Chapter 20

A New Beginning

As they drove away from the docks, Jessica felt a sense of relief wash over her. They had escaped James and his associates, at least for the time being.

Max glanced over at her, a smile on his face. "We did it," he said. "We're finally free."

Jessica nodded, feeling a sense of hope and possibility. They had been through so much, but they had made it through together.

As they drove, Max reached out and took her hand. "We're going to start a new life," he said. "Together. We'll leave the past behind and start fresh."

Jessica's heart swelled with emotion as she looked at Max. She knew that she loved him, and she was grateful to have him by her side.

"I'd like that," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Max smiled and squeezed her hand. "I promise you, Jessica," he said. "We'll make a new life, together. And we'll never look back."

As they drove off into the sunset, Jessica felt a sense of peace and happiness that she hadn't felt in years. She knew that they still had challenges ahead of them, but she was ready to face them head-on, as long as Max was by her side.
