He smiled and showed off his golden-colored skin that lit up from the magic in his hand.
Phoebe let a small smile break out on her face, but it quickly faded. “Thank you. Let’s get going before we’re found.”
The Golden Fox held her hand, keeping her in place. “I’m serious. You are no longer a child. Now you need to decide for yourself what you want in your life and what you stand for. If you don’t believe in yourself, it won’t matter what Charley and I say.”
She squeezed his hand back. “I know. I’m just tired. It’s been a long day.”
“And it’s going to be a cold and long night.” Charley walked the first horse over to Phoebe and gave her the reins. “You won’t be alone though. I’ll be with you every step of the way.”
Phoebe held the reins in her hand. “Thank you. Now let’s ride.”
