In the kingdom of Aethelgard, home of the vampires, a crisis broke out. Their supply of animal blood was running low, and there was no easy solution in sight. The queen of Aethelgard and the mother of Primo Vein Ravenscroft, issued a strict law that no vampire is allowed to drink human blood. But her own brother, Vadenote, chose to defy her. He slipped into the human world and began feeding on people instead. Because of this, the Queen ordered her son, Primo, to go after his uncle and stop him. Primo didn’t understand it. Why was his mother being kind to humans, when humans were the ones who killed his father? Once he arrived in the human world, he met Hianna Cy Orell. She was his complete opposite. Where he was dark and cold, she was bright and full of dreams—even if she was a little slow. As days passed, they grew close. Neither of them expected that their bond would change both of their lives forever. And before they realized it, they had fallen for each other. A love that would end up putting both of them in danger.

CHAPTER 1
THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW The vampire-populated kingdom of Aethelgard is located in a region of the world. Every vampire has a specific role to play in keeping the kingdom in order. The vampires queen sat on the table with frowned eyes. She is watching the prepared food, which has not been properly made for several days and is lacking the blood that sustains them. She gestured for a cooking servant to come over and inquire about it. “What's wrong with the dishes? Are you already skimping on what we eat?” she asked. The servant lowered her head. "I'm sorry, madam. “It's been a few days since we've been receiving only a small supply from those who go out to look for food.” She was a little perplexed. She said, "Alright, you can leave now," and the servant bowed before heading out. The Queen carried on dining with her family's other senior members. She saw that Primo, her son, was not present at the dinner table. "Where is Primo?" "He left a little earlier, ma'am," said one of the staff members standing next to her. She placed the spoon on the table, got up, and walked away from the dining area. From the fifth floor of their castle, she looked out of the big window. She was watching the people who lived under her rule. Not far away, she saw his son, Primo, practicing. Since he became aware of his duties, he never stopped training. He always wants to be alone. Queen Valeria just rested her hand on her forehead. "This child." Primo instantly felt someone watching him. He looked around and saw his mother standing by the window of their castle. He quickly hid his weapon and flew towards her. He knelt down, showing respect. “Forgive me, Mother, I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye before.” Queen Valeria smiled. “It’s okay, son.” She gestured for him to stand. They both looked outside the window. “Don’t you have any plans to go back to the human world and finish your studies?” she asked her child. Primo’s face didn’t change. He had the ability to walk in the light because human blood flowed in his veins, he can live under the sun. “None, Mother.” His answer was short. He didn’t like people. After finding out that people were responsible for his father’s death, he stopped talking to them. He had already reached the tenth grade in his studies, but he gave it up. Primo had a dark aura, gave short answers, and rarely talked to anyone. Yet, he still loved his mother deeply, he respected his mother so much. His mother sighed. “There will be a day when, whether you like it or not, you’ll have to go back to that world.” The two of them were silent for a moment. The Queen frowned again, staring at the sky. “Don’t you notice the sky?” Doesn’t it look darker than usual? Her child followed her gaze. He also frowned. The sky wasn’t normal. Their place was always dark, but it was protected by thick clouds that blocked the sun. At that moment, the clouds moved in a strange way. They were dark and looked like they were in chaos. “Mother, could this be connected to the decrease in food supply?” Queen Valeria was surprised. If that’s true, then her child had noticed it too. “I need to talk to them.” Queen Valeria quickly made her way to the food supply storage area, where she discovered the servants preparing to venture into the human realm in search of animals. They were startled by her unannounced presence, bowing respectfully as they greeted her. "How are the supplies?" she inquired first, and their hesitant glances revealed that things were not looking good. One of the servant answered with respect. "Currently, the food supply is low due to ongoing deforestation and the vanishing of animal species, Your Majesty," one servant explained. “We don't know the exact reason for the sudden vanishing.” "And you didn’t think to inform me?" They lowered their heads in shame. "Please forgive us, Your Majesty. We believed it would only last a day, but days have passed, and they are gone for good." Queen Valeria let out a sigh and looked for the supply., "This is exactly what I've been trying to tell you, Sister." Her brother, Vadenote, arrived suddenly causing her concern. She paused and couldn't respond. "What will you do if this situation deteriorates further? The population is increasing, yet you refuse to consider a reduction." She let out a deep breath and looked at her brother. "If the answer to that is to harm our own kind, then it's unacceptable," she stated resolutely. Vadenote chuckled softly. "You really don’t understand, sister. If that’s the case, why not take from the people?" His dark demeanor was unmistakable. Queen Valeria’s older brother was deeply greedy, harboring jealousy and resentment due to not being chosen as the ruler. His aggressive nature made it difficult for her to trust him. "Killing innocents and drinking their blood is even more intolerable," she responded. "Our scriptures have condemned that for generations. We can't break the rules." Vadenote smirked. "We can still find a solution, brother," Queen Valeria said. "When?” he challenged. “If the kingdom is already crumbling?" Vadenote shook his head in irritation and departed. Valeria sighed deeply and turned her attention back to the servants. "From now on, please inform me immediately about any issues, regardless of their severity." She then proceeded to the chamber where the kingdom’s high-ranking officials were gathered. Upon her entrance, their surprised expressions reflected her sudden arrival. "What service do you require, Your Majesty?" one asked. "I need you to inform all the leaders about a meeting later. We must discuss the situation in the human world, this is urgent," she commanded, and they nodded in agreement. She then summoned the leaders of the blood guard, known as the root shadow, to whom only she could give orders. There were two leaders present, and they bowed respectfully before her. "I want you to uncover the true reason behind the dwindling supplies in the human realm. Keep an eye on my brother; I have an uneasy feeling." They nodded and swiftly left to carry out her instructions. Queen Valeria tightened her fist and closed her eyes. "I hope you won't do anything to harm the innocent, brother." In an instant, the vampires appeared rushed due to the Queen's unexpected arrival. Orders were given to both factions. She made her way to the meeting area, where she came across her son standing in the hallway. Primo bowed respectfully upon seeing their mother. "Come with me. We need to discuss something with the higher-ups," she said, continuing her pace. Primo nodded and walked closely behind her. Once inside, Queen Valeria assessed the environment and caught the scent of her brother. The kingdom's high-ranking officials and key figures were already present and engaged in conversation. "Have you seen your uncle?" Primo replied briefly, "He left earlier, Mother." She frowned before taking her seat, causing the room to fall silent. "I need you to keep watch. If you see your uncle, let me know immediately," she whispered to Primo. He nodded and discreetly used his abilities to check for eavesdroppers. Queen Valeria cleared her throat before talking. "Do you understand why I called you here?" Some nodded in comprehension, while others looked perplexed. "I summoned you due to the current crisis in our kingdom. We are facing a food shortage, particularly concerning the blood we need to survive. "If we don't address this issue soon, we risk being overrun by another kingdom." The officials reacted with alarm, exchanging worried glances. "There are reports of deforestation and a decline in animal populations in the forest where we obtain our resources." She wasn’t convinced that was the actual cause and requested their suggestions. The forest is large. One official raised a hand. "Someone told me recently that your Brother often accompanies on hunts in the human world, dear Queen." Queen Valeria struck the table with her hand, surprising the officials. "What?!" "I expressly forbade him from entering the human realm." Her previous leniency towards him, believing he was changing for the better, was now a regret as she realized things had not improved. “Calm down, mother.” Her son whisper. She looked at the officials who looks so frightened. She rubbed her forehead, demanding, "Find out the true cause of this depletion." The officials nodded, but one cautiously said, "Queen Valeria, please don’t take offense. But hasn’t your Brother been exiled for some time to prevent any interference?" That statement held weight. Valeria had shown compassion for her brother, allowing him a chance at life in the kingdom, despite everyone being aware of her brother's malevolence. But if her Brother turned out to be the reason for the kingdom’s demise, Valeria felt no hesitation in abandoning that bond. "If he truly is responsible for this situation, I will forget he is my brother and regard him as an enemy."
