Coleman stepped cautiously from the car and inspected the ground. Tracks in the sand disclosed that many vehicles had entered the yard shortly before. At this moment, the sergeant knew that the six policemen who arrived here had died. Coleman broke into a run, joined by Officer Dore. The other two remained behind, reporting their discoveries every five minutes, as promised. Less than a minute later, the sergeant and Dore raced back to their partners.
