A CONFUSING DISCOVERY

All his arrested suspects sat quietly at the counter waiting for what he would say or do next. He went inside his office and sat down with his chin buried in the palm of his hand. He really wanted to close the case and be done with it but the case was more entangling than he thought.

He got up the next day and decided to revisit the scene. At that time no one was in the hall. He looked around and kept on searching the whole place. The scene was sealed and everyone was asked to leave their details before they could leave, which they did.

Sir I think I found something!, one of the constables shouted. He rushed over to see what it was. A glass window was broken. It seemed like someone or something broke through it. He looked around to see if there were any more clues. Then he found something more interesting. Dean's cufflinks. He remembered seeing similar cufflinks on Dean,the night before. He wondered what they were doing there. He knew the case was taking another turn so he decided to search for more clues. He couldn't find anything else. He turned to the constable. Let's go back to the station. They all left and resealed the scene.Dean was requested to come to the station. Calixto brought out the cufflinks and showed them to Dean. He was shocked. Detective Calixto asked him what they were doing at the balcony window. He said he knew nothing about them. Calixto told him to look carefully at the cufflinks and reminded him that he wore them last night. Dean couldn't deny anymore. He said that it was when he was returning back to the party he ran into Mike Bridgestone who seemed like he was trying to run away from someone or something. He tried stopping him to ask him what the matter was but he hurriedly pulled away from him. He was headed toward the balcony. That was how it ended up there, with that,he concluded his story. Calixto was not too convinced but he told him he could leave but he would still be asked to return to the station soon. He agreed and left.

Detective Calixto decided to create a search hunt for his next suspect Mike Bridgestone. They went in search of him. First to his house. He wasn't available. They asked about him from some people who knew him but they said they haven't seen him for sometime. They left and continued their search. They toiled for a long time till it was sundown,but they still couldn't find him. Although they had a sketch of him they still couldn't locate him. As they were about to give up on their search, they had a breakthrough. A lady saw the sketch in their hands and approached them. She greeted them and said: Sir please the man on this sketch are you looking for him?. He said yes. Sir may I know why?, Calixto decided not to conceal the truth about his search. She nodded after listening to Calixto,I have seen him before.Calixto's eyes widened with excitement but he contained his happiness. The lady continued:sir i saw him a few moments ago. He went toward that hotel she said as she pointed to a big building right across them. He thanked her and left for the hotel.

(At the hotel)

They walked in and greeted the receptionist. They asked about Mike Bridgestone, the receptionist had to be sure that they were really working for the government before letting out the information. While they chatted with the receptionist,Mike walked out toward the receptionist. Once he spotted the police,he tried to run away but they easily caught him because they spotted him coming out. They inquired from him why he wanted to run,but he said he never tried to. They told him to cooperate with them because an investigation was being carried out. He followed them quietly to the Lounge and sat down facing Calixto. He looked scary. Mike was not feeling at ease. Calixto started asking him questions. First he looked shocked when Calixto told him that Kimberly Clark was dead. He didn't hide it. His mood changed when Calixto asked him why he ran away from the party. He said he didn't run off but left to attend to a very important task. Mike was still talking when Roman walked up to him and kissed him on his cheeks before kissing his lips. Roman did not know that Calixto was a detective. Calixto was shocked.

Mike was a bit disturbed. Roman greeted Calixto casually and he replied him with a grin. Mike whispered something to Roman's ear and he quickly apologized to Calixto for being too casual with him.

Calixto could not help but have a headache because what he was seeing was enough to make him go blind. He thought Mike Bridgestone was Kimberly Clark's boyfriend,how come he is with Roman?.If they were dating,who was Kimberly Clark to Mike Bridgestone?........... SUSPENSE............
