MURDER AND DETECTIVE

CHAPTER 1 THE INVITATION It was a warm afternoon and Kimberly a young beautiful lady in her late 20's paced about her terrace as if waiting for someone. Suddenly her doorbell rang........(doorbell:branng!!!) She hurriedly opened the door and she saw a man in his early 30's he smiled and greeted her. He had been her friend and delivery guy for sometime. She responded his greeting and received the parcel......she undid the wrap and brought out it's content. It was an invitation to a get together and it read:This is an invitation to the get together of the 1988 set of Manhattan university. You are cordially invited. Please grace this event with your presence. Kim smiled at the card. She got up and went to her lavish wardrobe. She was a CEO of JUPITER oil and gas firm. She had the cash so she spent it. She chose a blue slim fitted dress and a simple jewelry to go with it. She topped it all with a matching channel purse and heels. * * * At the party She walked in looking most extremely gorgeous. She caught attention as usual. Her lover boy Mike Bridgestone was staring in awe. Hi. She said. He replied with a kiss on her cheek. She was very happy with him. They walked hand in hand into the party. Everyone was jealous. Dean approached them and greeted too. She replied casually but Mike response was hearty. They chatted for a while before the party fully started. Everyone was enjoying the party including Aliyah who came as Romans' date. They exchanged pleasantries and kept on enjoying the party.A waiter spilled drinks on her dress,she slapped him and asked the cleaner to clean it up and she left for the bathroom .The party was going great when suddenly a scream was heard from the balcony. Everyone rushed out to see who it was...........At the balcony was a dead Kim soaked in her own blood. It seemed like she was hit many times on the head and stabbed at least three to four times. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ( At the hall) Detective Calixto paced about staring hard and scanning the whole room before he finally spoke .Did you all receive the same invitation?he asked All:Yes sir! Detective Calixto:Who hosted and sent the invite to her? Dean:Sir I hosted the party. Calixto:Did you also send the invite? Dean: yes sir Calixto:You all have graduated college about 4 to 5 years ago already and yet you could still get together......hmm that's interesting!. Miss Kimberly Clark was one of your coursemates or to some just schoolmate. Mr. Dean how did you locate her house? Dean: sir it really wasn't an issue because we still kept in touch even after graduation. Calixto:I heard that you once confessed your feelings for her but she turned you down in front of the whole school,is that right? Dean:Yes! Calixto:You were heart broken that day but yet after years you still remained friends? Dean: Sir please we were never enemies Calixto:She chose your best friend over you..... Mike Bridgestone right? Dean:Yes sir. Calixto:Where is he? wasn't he also invited to the party? Everyone looked around but at that time Mike Bridgestone was already gone. He turned back to Dean who was now sweating profusely. Calixto:Why are you sweating? There is enough air in this room,or is it because there is no one here to shift the blame to? Dean:I just fe fee feel very suffocated.He stammerd. Calixto could easily say he was the suspect as of that time. Calixto: You could easily have had a grudge against her under the pretext of a friendship after all she rejected you. Dean:No way. I don't hate her for that. She has the right to choose whom to love. Calixto:hmph...(he scoffed) Well you may have invited her just so you could see her and take revenge on her. Dean: No.....I invited her because she was a part of the set. Calixto: where were you during the time of the murder? Dean: I I I...... Calixto:let me help you. You were not here. You followed her immediately you saw her leave for the bathroom, eye witnesses confirmed you followed her and waited for her to come back and you stopped her halfway and confronted her,you had an argument and then you stabbed her,right? Dean was speechless for a while before he finally spoke up.Sir that was not it. Yes I followed her and we had an argument but I did not kill her. I never had such an intention. I only wanted to know if she even had a little feeling for me but she said no. I told her I still loved her but she said Mike was better I got angry and we argued a little but after that she walked away and I returned back to the party. Believe me!. Calixto looked at him for a while and asked him a few more questions before telling him to go back and sit. Dean was a bit relieved because nothing else connected him to the murder. Dean said he thought she returned to the party. Calixto decided to let Dean go temporarily since no much incriminating evidence was found on him but he still had his doubts. He scanned the scene for a while,finally he spoke..... (SUSPENSE).....
