Summer cleared her throat and straightened as Adam approached, his slow steps turning brisk on sighting the man beside her. Adam’s blank expression had turned to a deep scowl. He walked close to her and pulled his arm over her waist pulling her into him. She gasped. They were unnecessarily close for her liking. But she didn’t pull out of his arms. She didn’t think she had any choice. She saw the way, Luis looked at her, tearing her apart with his eyes, studying her every curve and movement.
He had a stupid smile on his lips as he leaned his elbow against the window, taking a sip of his wine.
“Are you okay?” Adam whispered into her ear, his breath fanning her neck. She felt the hairs on her skin stand erect and she swallowed, waving off the unusual feeling that’d pooled in her stomach.
