“Caspian? Where are you?”
“By dorm parking lot.”
Knight, Zander’s counterpart, approaches slowly from the edge of the forest. The last light of the entire building on the second floor barely illuminates his light gray coat. Dawn is almost here and Orion and I haven’t been back to the hotel room. Zander must have come looking for me.
“You didn’t come back to the hotel. Tracked your scent and the smell of death. How many animals did you kill, dude?”
“Orion lost it. I needed him to calm down.”
“What the f**k happened?”
I stared at the sixth floor window again. The lights have been off for a few hours. I look at Knight and notice he was carrying a gym bag in his mouth.
“That your stuff in the bag so we can talk?” I dipped my muzzle towards it. He nodded his head.
