I’m running through the forest, Artemis’s breath is barely noticeable over the crunch of the snow beneath her massive paws. The bright blue sky is still and the air is crisp, and if you focused enough you could see the condensation coming from Artemis’s nose when she exhaled. I look to my right and see my perfect mate, aligned perfectly in sync with Aretmis’s running. He is so focused on looking straight ahead, all I can see is the black tuft of fur around his left eye when suddenly he leans his head back and lets out a strong howl and picks up speed.
