The Boundary Line

Chapter 15

Pushing aside the miserable thoughts, I put both of my hands in my lap and centered my mind on Alpha Mike.

"So the rest of you can enjoy evening. Beta Will, Alpha Tristan, Beta Noah and myself will be discussing the situation in my office, so it will be appreciated if there will be no disturbances." Mike gave a tight nod. "And once again, welcome, Alpha Tristan and pack members to our land. " I couldn't help but admire my Mate as he followed Mike and my father down the stage and along the aisle that was created through the seated crowd.

I gulped, my tongue feeling like a brick. Tristan walked past me, power and dominance simply radiated off him, the confidence he showed was astonishing, and not to mention incredibly attractive. Not even Alpha Mike seemed to carry the same feel of power as Tristan did... and that was saying something. Alpha Mike was known for his great leadership.

My eyes were wide, as I made eye contact with my Mate. The pull I felt towards him was almost unbearable. As hard as it was, I was able to break away from his gaze and examined the rest of him. His face was hard and impressive.

Before I knew it Tristan had passed my sight, leaving me suffocated in his scent.

Running my hands through my hair, I closed my eyes and flopped back on my chair. Taking note that everyone was getting up and moving, I collected my thoughts. I replayed the seen in my head, my body still felt warm and fuzzy from Tristan possessive words. "She is mine". I shivered in pleasure. Did that really happen?

Opening my eyes, I looked around seeing my pack chatting among themselves. I noticed most looked uncomfortable and rigid as they stood together with Tristan pack members. It was no doubt that they hated the idea of Tristan and his pack members being here. They were the enemy after all.

Standing up, I hadn't realized I was looking for someone until my gaze landed on Aria. I walked in her direction and could feel a frown take shape. Aria was leaning on one of the house near the Alpha house, her hands on her face.

Remembering Aria Mate was supposed to be here today, I jogged over to her. As I glanced at my surroundings I realized Jake was nowhere to be see.

"Good" my wolf growled. "He should never had done what he did". I shook my head in agreement. For about the hundredth time I asked myself the same question; "What is wrong with Jake?"

"His wolf was unease" my wolf told me. "Why?" I asked, confused. "I don't know, but something is going on with him. I don't like it." My wolf growls echoed through my head, clearly upset. Focusing my attention back to Aria, I continued to walk over to her.

"Aria" I breathed. Sitting down to her level, I gently shook her shoulders. "What's wrong Aria?" I watched curiously, as Aria grabbed my hands on her hands and squeezed them. Looking at me wit wide eyes she spoke.

"I saw him" she whispered. Her face broke out into a slight smile, as if recalling something. Her green eyes shone with a new happiness. She gave a short laugh and released my hands. "The Beta... he's" she stopped herself, staring at me with amazement. She continued, although I had a pretty good idea about what she was going to say.

"The Beta" she repeated. "He's my Mate. I just saw him, but he left with Alpha Tristan and Alpha Mike. Oh my god, The Dark Moon Beta is my Mate!" She stood up pulling me with her, hugging me.

I grinned, feeling nothing but happiness for my best friend as I hugged her back. My best friend found her Mate and it turned out to be my Mate best friend. I think both of them are best friend. But my Mate having a best friend? I didn't even know if Noah, his Beta is his friend or not. It seemed odd imaging it. It doesn't feel right to even imagining Tristan socializing with other wolves. But I couldn't judge, I barely even know Tristan.

I came back to reality when Aria loosen her tight hug on me, only to grab my hands. " I found my Mate" she whispered again, laughing out loud. I watched my best friend in amusement. I chuckled at her. Noah will going to love her, and if he don't love her then I will to there to kick his ass. He better should not hurt my best friend.

"His name is Noah" I told her, thinking back when I met him for the first time, when visiting The Dark Moon Packs territory.

"Noah?" she exclaimed. She threw her head back, shutting her eyes tight and groaned.

"Oh my god, I feel so horny." She said. Both Aria and I started to laugh. That's the thing I love about Aria, she is so straight forward. She tells things like they are.

Coming to sense, Aria puts her arm through my arm a we began to walk towards her house. My mind always find it way back to Tristan.

"I can't believe Jake! I mean what was he even thinking?" She looked mad, looking at me in question. I was confused to what to answer her. " I have no idea, what happened to him.''

Aria nodded, we came closer to her home. I glanced at her out of the corner of my eyes to find her already looking at me with a dreamy look on her face.

"Your Mate. Holy damn! He looks like absolute heaven, I mean that face and body!" If anyone else beside Aria had said that about my Mate, I would had trouble stopping myself from teaching them some lessons. But considering it was my best friend and she had just found her Mate, I knew she meant no harm, the playful grin was the indication.

"And when he went all possessive. I seriously thought he was going to kill Jake." She gaze her eyes on my stomach, giving me a teasing look. "And I think everyone of us, could feel the hot burning passion between you two." I blushed, my cheeks going rosy red.

I playfully pushed Aria away, her laughter was loud and sweet.

I began to think about what Aria had said. Yeah, there was a connection between Tristan and I, but I felt that Tristan was different. I got the feeling that things weren't going to be all lovely and romantic between us. Well at least not at first. My Mate felt reserved, even towards me. Something has to of happened to him to make him like this.

No one can be so cold and hard by choice, could they?
