The Boundary Line

Chapter 2

I hurried to go to the main hall, where I know the meeting is held. Our meeting is always held at the main hall, so I knew where I really had to go. 

I went running down the hallway and got to the massive door where all the rest of my members were waiting. I slowly decided to open the door.

Everyone who was talking stopped, when they saw me they stopped. Everyone's eyes were on me and I thought it was quite embarrassing because I hate getting attention. I decided to look for my dad.

“Luce here” my dad called. I looked up where my dad was standing. I smiled at him and I made my way towards him. When I walked towards my dad I noticed that he looked quite nervous. I always feel bad for him because at a young age he loses his mate. Now he is 40 years old, but he doesn’t look that old.

My dad has short gray dark brown hair and his eyes are big green. I always felt that if he was human, then he would have already had a second marriage. He is still handsome and I think no woman can resist him. My dad is my world and I love him so much, I don’t want to leave him. But I know one day when I meet my mate I have to leave him.

People say I look like my father, but I look like my mom. My mom was so beautiful, from the photos that I have seen. My mom had long black hair, I don’t have long hair. I have hair that is not too short and not too long, but I have black color hair just like my mom. I am not as beautiful as my mom and I have never thought I was beautiful or pretty.

“Luce what took you so long?” my dad questioned me as he pulled around his hand to hug me.

I couldn’t say anything to him so I just lowered my voice and said “I am sorry dad”.

I turned around and people were watching after me and my dad. I felt awkward. My dad turned toward the empty seat and he told me to sit there. 

My dad stepped backward to sit with Joe, who is third in command.

Alpha Mike stood and he went up front on the stage. He cleared his throat and then he started to speak.

“Thank you all coming here on a short notice” he paused and then he looked across the room. Then he went on to say “ as you have all heard just last night that one of the members, a child of The Dark Moon Pack, had been murdered”. Alpha Mike paused for quite some time to look at the crowd.

I thought to myself that this isn’t the news that we were expecting and we all hated The Dark Moon pack, for killing my mom. But I guessed everyone was shocked because someone went to The Dark Moon territory and killed the member. No one dares to go to The Dark Moon pack unwelcome and let alone, kill one of his members.

“Today I got a call from Alpha Tristan, he is saying that he is investing all packs across the county to see if anyone killed one of his members. Although instead of him coming here, we have to go there, the reason is that he can’t leave his pack in a solution like this. They are still feeling sad for their loss and they think it’s too dangerous to leave”. As Alpha Mike said those words I just thought to myself, how can anyone kill a child. What reason there can be to kill a child?

Then Alpha Mike said that they will go there tomorrow morning so they can reach there by evening. I thought that's great because when they reach there, I will still be in my bed sleeping. My happiness didn’t last as long as I thought because when Alpha Mike told me the names of those people who will be going with him, it gave me goosebumps.

Alpha Mike said “the people who will be accompanying me are Beta Will, Joe, Tim and Luce”. When I heard my name I thought for a second I heard something wrong. I thought to myself, how can I go there.
