Chapter 3

587 Words
At any other time, I would have loved to go running in the forest in my wolf form, with four of my pack members. But not this time. My muscles and legs were aching for running for like forever. My breathing was slow for running for too long. When I looked to my left there was my dad, a powerful brown wolf and he was running beside me. Sometimes his fur touches my fur. I turned to my right and there were two big wolves running a few meters away from me. I knew both of them were Joe and Tim, but I focused on Alpha Mike who was running a few meters ahead of me. Alpha Mike was massive and big as a horse. Alpha Mike wolf is deep gray and it’s beautiful. “Are you alright?” my dad question, while using the mind link. “Yes, dad is a bit nervous”. If I am being honest, I think nervous is not the word for me right now. I felt like I was going to die or something. We were near the Boundary Line and I thought we might be about 10 minutes away from the Boundary Line. Never in my life have I ever thought that I will cross the Boundary Line. It may look like an ordinary line, but it’s not any ordinary line. It holds so much power and I also heard that when you are about to cross the line, it will tell you to not cross the line. I heard from old stories that when you crossed the Boundary Line, you will feel some kind of pain. Alpha Mike started to slow. Mike then turned to us. “We are here” he said. When I looked at the Boundary line, I thought it was just an ordinary line engraved in the dirt. “Shall we go” Joe, the third in command asked. Alpha Mike shook his head and we knew it was a yes sign. Mike crossed the line first, then my dad, Joe and Tim. I was the last. I started to ask myself why did I even come here. This is stupid I thought. When I asked my dad about it, he just told me it’s my duty as a Beta daughter. I didn’t want to come to The Dark Moon pack. As soon as I touched The Dark Moon territory, my mind was saying to get the hell out of here. The story was right, I did feel as if an invisible force was pulling me back. “Keep going” my wolf encouraged me. I somehow put all my four paws and I felt like I don’t belong here. After I crossed the line, I went right up to my dad who was waiting for me. “You did great,” my dad said and in return I nodded my head. “Let’s keep moving, Alpha Tristan is expecting us soon” Mike notified us. Again, I started to have a tingling feeling start inside of me at the mention of Tristan name. “What does it mean?” I asked my wolf. My wolf was quiet at first, but then she said “you will find out soon”. What does she mean by that?  I shook my head clear of thoughts and began to walk through the forest with my pack members, toward the awaiting Alpha Tristan.
