Lennox's POV
Sometimes, bumping into someone or meeting someone new can make you see the beauty in your life.
You discover a new part of yourself that you never even knew existed and you'd be surprised as things unfold.
It's two weeks since I ran away from the restaurant, two weeks since the day I met Vincent, he never visited the orphanage and I never saw him again, even when I resumed working in the restaurant.
Yes you heard me right, “I said working in the restaurant” after that night, Miss Nora accompanied me to go plead with my madam.
After much pleading she accepted but with a condition that if destroy any of her dish again she would cut my left palm. Like for real I don't know why this woman is so obsessed with left palm, well that is her business for now the only thing on my mind is Vincent.
I wanted to see him, funny enough even my most pressing need of getting a scholarship seemed less important now, only Vincent was on my mind.
“Lennox stop standing there daydreaming, and get your little dead panned ass into the kitchen, I don't pay you to daydream.” My madam yelled from across the counter.
I snapped out of my thoughts and hurried into the kitchen.
Fiery furnace clan
Michael's POV
I sat in my room looking all angry and frustrated, I had eagerly been waiting to meet by mate chosen by the moon goddess when I turn 18, but it seemed like the goddess had another plan for me.
Everyone who turned 18 in the clan found their respective mates, except me the alpha's heir.
“It's alright mic, we would soon find our mate, perhaps she is being a little late.” Kurosawa my wolf and only loyal companion, said inside my head trying to cheer me up.
“C'mon Sawa, it's been four days since I turned 18, yet I haven't felt the mate bond with anyone, the entire clan is waiting anxiously to see their future Luna.” I complaining.
“Mic! He exclaimed. “You aren't the goddess, just free yourself when the time comes for us to find our mate, we definitely will. But for now let's go for a sprint through the forest.
“You sure know how to cheer me up Sawa.” I tease smiling slightly, letting him take over.
After running for a while through the forest, I changed back to my human form and stood naked at the top of the hill, which over viewed the flaming vocalno, a place where anyone who goes against the the laws of the clan was thrown in to atone for their Sins.
As funny and illogical as it might sound, old Durkee whiskers the oldest man in the clan whose age transcends across three centuries always make sure he tells the tale of the flaming vocalno to every growing werewolf in the clan.
But I guess that tale, will be a talk for another day.
Watching the vocalno from afar I felt peace within me, I closed my eyes allowing myself inhale the sweet smell of nature and fire, when I felt a s**t in nature and it came with a hostile intent.
Why wouldn't they let me be, today I decided to enjoy nature and do nothing rebellious, they've come at me again.
Instantly I let Kurosawa take over, “Did you summon Avena?” He asked sniffing the air.
“And why would I Sawa? When I know how crazy she is about me.” I replied haughtily making Sawa chuckle.
“I know that better than anyone mic, that woman is nothing but a thorn on your flesh and the alpha seems to favour her a lot.” He said making me sigh.
“But mic, I can sense Avena and her men around here, and they are bearing hostile intent.” Kurosawa said his Aura changing from carefree to dangerous, making me feel confused and disoriented.
Mortal realm (orphanage home)
Lennox's POV
I closed earlier than usual from work after a hectic afternoon in the kitchen. My madam made me work all through in the kitchen, she said that was the only way she would let me go early.
“Hey Lennox you closed early today, hope there is no problem at work?” Miss Nora asked gently with a smile.
“No there isn't Miss Nora, I closed early so I could burn some candles for Mrs Owen.” I replied walking toward my room.
After burning the candles at Mrs Owen grave, I sat besides it remembering everything she has gone through for us only to be killed by those the protected.
Flashback (1year ago)
Lennox’s POV
"I'm very sorry, ma. The kids cannot continue schooling with us if their fees are not paid. We’ve been tolerating them for the past two years now, but the school cannot continue its charity program.
We need money to pay our staff and handle maintenance,” one of the suited guests said from the Mistress’s office.
I knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but I had come to report that Sophia had lost consciousness again.
"Please bear with us for a while. I’ve already sent a letter to the government requesting financial support. I hope they respond soon," Mrs. Owen the Mistress of the orphanage pleaded.
"I think we’re done here. You should find a solution to your financial crisis before bringing the kids back next week.” The officials replied and walked out of the office.
I quickly hid behind a pillar and watched them leave. I had lost the strength to tell Mrs. Owen about Sophia and quietly turned back.
“Lennox! Sophie has fainted again!”
I heard the kids scream, and I froze.
End of flashback.
“What are you doing here Lennox?” A very familiar voice asked, bending to stare directly at my face.
As I stared back I froze in fear. “James……….James.” I yelled and passed out.
