(Constance's POV)
As we opened the front door 3 sleek black SUVs pulled in to the half circle driveway in front of the pack house. Dominic, Lucian's second Beta, Stepped out of the passenger side of the middle vehicle. He wasn't as big as Orric or Lucian, but he wasn't to be messed with. His long fleshy scar, reaching from his forehead to his chin was testament to that. He took an axe for Lucian when they went to war with the Silver Haze pack.
Dominic opened the back door and a tall, thin, dark haired beauty stepped out of the back. She was impeccably dressed. Her designer dress accentuated her frame well. Her long black heels making her legs 3 feet longer. Her make up was applied artfully. Her red lips pursed until she saw my husband.
A squeal escaped her lips as she ran into his arms. Anger flickered inside of me and my wolf growled at the disrespect. Not only had she ignored my presence, but she was disrespectfully touching my mate. Lucian's wolf reacted to mine. He grabbed her upper arms and pulled her back from him.
"Talia this is my wife. Luna Constance . Luna this is Talia. My old friend." he smiled stepping beside me to assert his place beside me, and her place beneath me.
Annoyance flickered across her face for the briefest second before she bowed. "My apologies Luna. I did not mean to offend you. I simply have missed my friend." She finished with a gleaming smile at Lucian. He smiled fondly at her.
I smiled at her before answering. "Let us not forget our manners, even in times of joy." I stated simply yet dominantly. I caught Orric's grin, but Lucian stiffened slightly. He didn't like my remark.
"Now dear wife have you not forgotten your manners in times of happiness?" The question challenged me. He was taking up for her. In front of important pack members. My pride shrank a little.
" Of course." is all I mustered. He knew he upset me.
"Of course my wife is right however. You will not make the mistake again I am sure." He smiled, but the statement was powerful enough to soothe my wounded ego.
Talia's lips never moved from their smile, but I saw something in her eyes each time she glanced at me. Jealousy? Was I being crazy?
To end the awkward silence, I clapped my hands together and announced dinner. "Talia I'm sure you'll want to freshen up before dinner. Mother will be there." I smiled at Lucian. He returned the smile. "Mom?! Oh I miss Rosey! I can't wait to see her." My eyebrow shot up at Lucian. Mom? How close were they? From my understanding they never mated, and the bond that they had shared was only infatuation. That's what Lucian had told me. She broke it off with him for the husband she was now running from. Back to Lucian?! Over my dead body. I only agreed to this because Lucian had promised her father he would protect her.
Lucian sensed my frustration. "Conny would you mind accompanying me to my office. I'd like to show you something." I knew he was gonna ask what was wrong. We watched Orric Leave with Talia trailing behind before walking hand in hand back to his office.
He closed the door behind us as we entered. "Now, Dear Wife what happened back there? I could sense the fury. Er, well Baine could anyway." Babe was his wolf. Meanwhile Astrid, my wolf, paced back and forth within demanding to know the truth. Something was off to her.
" She called your mother 'mom'. How close where you two really? This is nothing more than a promise made to a dying man right?" My eyebrow raised at the questions. I caught annoyance in his face before his face calmed seeing the reassurance I needed.
"Yes Constance. Nothing more, nothing less. I made a promise to her father and I just wanted to keep it. you know I respected him a great deal." He stepped towards me wrapping his arms around me, pulling me in. " No need for jealousy little wolf." He smiled down at me. So warm and alluring. I smiled back up at him.
"Jealous? Me? Only making sure what's mine remains that way. Wouldn't want to invite ghosts in." I pursed my lips and c****d and eyebrow up at him. He chuckled and kissed the tip of my nose so softly.
" I will always remain yours little wolf." The way his voice rumbled deep in my ear when he said that set my blood on fire. Before even I knew it I had wrapped my body around his, and pulled his lips to mine. Claiming him to forever be mine. I felt him hard against me and pulled from our kiss smiling devilishly up at him, my hands found his buckle and loosened his belt. His hand stopped mine. My eyes met his.
" Someone could walk in. " He explained looking at the unlocked door. I smiled again as I smacked his hands away. First the button, the slowly pulling the zipper. I looked back up at him. He was stunned. Mouth agape.
" Let them." I said before his erection sprang free in my hands. I kissed it up one side and down the other before taking him in my mouth. He was mine. All of him was mine. His breathing hitched and his hands knotted in hair as the rhythm between us grew faster. He tried to pull away as he came, but I had him in place as hot liquid filled my mouth. The act aroused him further and he filled my mouth again. I stood and kissed him, stroking his, still throbbing, c**k.
"What was that?" He breathed. doing his pants back up. I smiled at him.
" You're mine." I shrugged and hugged him. He pulled me close and chuckled. His heart was still pounding from the venture.
" I want to be yours again. And again. And again." my eyes told no lies and I would do it again, and again, and again. He knew that. Before anything could go further there was a tap on the door. I poured. Obviously still heated from our interaction. I wanted him to bend me over his desk so bad.
" Come in." He says. Orric appeared. He smiles at me me then looks at Lucian. " Well? "
"Sorry sir, um your mother is looking for you." His shifted into a sorry expression. My goodness, what is wrong now? She doesn't like me very much, nor I her. She wishes her son would have married within the pack, but no. When he went to war with the Silver Haze pack, a nearby pack had offered to help knowing his pack was on the verge of loss. It was my father that saved his father. After the battle the two remained good friends. Even promised Lucian and myself to each other.
She hated me because of that. His father never asked. I suppose I would be angry too, but not at me. When I met Lucian for the first time 5 years ago, our mate bond exploded. As soon as we met eyes Atrid started howling and so did Baine. Our wolves were soul mates. We were destined to be together. She also hated that. I was Celtic decent. He was Nordic. Once enemies in a forgotten time. None of which mattered anymore.
I heard the click of his mother's heels on the floor before I saw her. She flung the door of the study back dramatically. Standing before me was Rose Erickson. Her presence demanded respect and we all turned to look at her.
