Chapter 1- Talia's Return.
(Constance's POV) Today Talia was coming back to the pack. I knew today was happening for a few weeks now, preparations for her return were set 2 weeks ago. Lucian had been tense since he got the phone call from Lourdes. The Blood Moon Pack's Alpha.Talia's ex-husband had borrowed money from some rogue wolves, and they sought her out as payment. Me, being the gracious Luna I am, assured Lucian in his decision to bring her here. She was once, after all, a former Shadow Wood Pack member. I showered, and dressed myself carefully for the day. I looked in the mirror at my long, luscious, red curly hair. As it dried from my shower, I helped the curls form their coils. My alabaster skin was delicate beneath the sea of red curls. My emerald green eyes piercing. I applied little make up. When finished I looked at the stunning woman in the mirror. " Today is a good day." I say to her. Chanting my matra for the day. The girl in the mirror stared back. Unsure of what she had allowed in her home. Pushing aside those nagging thoughts, I set out through the pack house to find Lucian. Just as I approach his office I hear hushed conversation, so I step lighter to hea. "Does Luna know who she is Lucian?" I knew that was Orric. Lucian's childhood best friend and Beta. "Do you question your Alpha's senses? You'd think I would bring her here in Conny's face without her knowing the past Talia and I have shared?" Lucian's tone was not to be questioned. Each query rhetorical. " My apologies Alpha. I did not mean to accuse. Just be mindful Luce. Don't forget what she did." What had she done? Orric obviously wasn't a big fan. I was even more curious. I hadn't realized I'd been holding my breath. I tried to inch forward, but the floor board creaked making the wolves take attention to my presence. I walked into the room finally and both men stood to greet me. Orric was a massive man. Standing almost 6 foot 9 inches tall, muscles as far as the eye could see, and his skin was tanned from his years outside. His hair was dark brown, and he had the beard to match. He was handsome no doubt. He bowed at my entrance. "Luna." He smiles. My eyes dart to my beautiful husband. Lucian was just as big as Orric. 6 foot 8 inches tall. Boy did that inch make a difference when they would banter back and forth. His body was toned too. Soft tanned skin with gorgeous black hair. His right arm bore a tattooed sleeve holding the packs ancient origin story. He was perfect. His button up shirt couldn't hide what was beneath it. Neither could those black slacks. I could feel the heat stir in my lower belly. My wolf rose to attention devouring the site of her mate. His wolf must have sensed it, because he pulled me in for a kiss. With his hard body pressed against my small delicate frame, I could feel his excitement over my excitement. He pulled back slightly and smiled down at me. "My beautiful Luna." he murmured as he stroked my bottom lip with his thumb. " Please don't let today upset you. She is only here for protection. She has not been invited back into the pack." My smile remained. Hoping to soothe him about my emotions. "Most gracious Alpha. Would you really be my Lucian if you didn't help her?" His smile widened at my response. Something tugged at the back of my mind. Dread? I was unsure, but for a moment his aura darkened. My eyebrow rose questioning, but Orric spoke before I could ask. "Alpha. She's here." Lucian nodded. He kissed me once more before leaving my hand with his as we walked out to the front of the pack house to greet our new guest.
