11. Dark Shade

Felicity POV:

“Split my soul?” I started to panic and Estrid put her head on my lap. “ Why me? What have I done to annoy the Moon Goddess so much, I lost everything. I lost Kilian, my mother, my child and now I’ve lost my wolf. I want her back” I whispered stroking Estrid.

“It will be fine” Lucas crouched down next to me and started smirking. He was happy to have witnessed such an event. Splitting of the soul was unheard of.

“I need her. I don’t have anyone else, please Lucas help me”.

“This isn’t a curse Felicity; this is a gift. Whenever you need your wolf she will not only come out but she will be right next to you, fighting with you. She is her own creature now” he looked at me with wonder and smirked again. “Sorry it’s freaking me out, you look like Lily”.

“What do I do now?” I questioned and took the bracelet off.

“You need to open your heart, your soul, and welcome her back in” he instructed.

How was I supposed to do that, how can people ‘open their heart’, there wasn’t a manual or a quick book I could read.

I bent my head down and placed in on top of Estrid. She had a soft black fur and I was looking at my own eyes. “Estrid please come back” I whispered.

I feel empty

I know, but I need you right now, what do I do? I asked.

You need to command me.

She was right, I commanded her to come out and since I was a Royal she would have to listen to me. I hugged her again and leaned my forehead against hers. I never felt my own wolf before, her black fur ran in between my fingers.

“Estrid, come back” I said out loud clearly.

I took a deep breath and I felt more air in my lungs, more blood in my body and my hearing improved as I heard everything around me. I opened my eyes and I saw the dark forest with never ending trees in front of me . Estrid was back inside.

“You’ve done it” Lucas said, helping me stand back up. “You are the strongest wolf I have ever seen. Felicity you will be hunted for your powers. Seeing people’s aruras is one thing but splitting of a soul is something much greater. You can already mind link every wolf, even if they are not part of your pack. Your powers are linked to your emotions. You are the only surviving adult descendant of Xavier” he didn’t know how wrong he was, Francis was in the hall having the time of his life whilst I was discovering

new powers. I didn’t want anyone to find out about him yet. Ophelia and Margaret told me that he was born first so he might have more powers than me.

“ I need to go home” I stood up and shook of some leaves that were on my dress. I wasn’t expecting to go back into the Estate, I would wait for Francis by the car.

We walked in silence for a while, I was taking in the beauty of Marble and realised how lucky I was to have lived here.  I saw the Estate in the far distance and heard that the party was still in full swing.

“Can I ask you something?” Lucas stopped walking and looked at me heartbroken.

“Sure” I gave him a quick smile.

“Can you put your bracelet back on, please. I need to see her again”.

I never seen Lucas like this, he would usually be the quiet one, the brother that got on with everyone and done anything his Alpha asked him. I still served the wolves and I would travel from pack to pack training their warriors so I still heard a lot about the wolf politics. Lucas was starting his own Pack. The Stonecross Pack, it was going to be an extension of Kilian Pack, making him an even stronger Alpha than he already was. Now Lucas wasn’t being an Alpha, he was being someone who loved and lost.

I put the heels I was holding in my hands down on the floor and put the bracelet back on. Immediately his face light up and a massive grin formed on his face. I wanted Kilian to look at me the way Lucas was looking at Lily. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug, resting his chin on my head.

“I miss you” he whispered as he planted a kiss on top of my head.

We made our way back and I went straight to the car, I told Lucas to let Francis know I would wait for him and he could take as long as he wanted.  I told Lucas that he was just a member of a pack that I picked up on the way here.

I didn’t have to wait long.

“Let’s get out of here” he spoke quickly as he got into the car.

“What’s wrong” I said buckling the seat belt.

“WOLVES ARE CARZY!” he shouted out. “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you, the girls were all looking at me like they wanted me to bend them over and..”

“WHOA WHOA WHOA, too much information! Omit the details please”.

“Sorry, they are hungry but not like you’re starving for your mate hungry and need a piece of cake hungry. They wanted the whole buffet. Not to mention the Alphas they all wanted to know if I have any skills and how much I could bench press” he let out a sigh and we drove back home.

“So, no-one was your mate?” I asked quietly.

“No, listen I was thinking do I need a mate? Why can’t I just bring the wolf out like a normal person?”

“Because we are not normal. The witch put a curse on you on purpose, you had to find her. I don’t know what is happening but someone is after us. And we will be ready for them”.

I left Kilian to his own devices. He was a liar and a cheater, I didn’t want a person like that in my life. I was only worried about Cassius, what if he turned out to be like his father.

Two Days Later

“Golden Maple Pack?” Poppy was going through the list of all the neighbouring Packs.

“No” I answered looking at the map.

“Silver Moon?”

“No, they were all there”.

“Blue Moon?”

“Nope”

“Dark Shade?”

“Dark Shade?” I was confused.

“Yeah they are a new pack, just over 300 people. They aren’t officially a pack yet as they haven’t been registered with the Elders but they are a Pack” she showed me a book which outlined the Packs.

“Dark Shade? Why Dark Shade?” I asked.

“They are a bunch of rogues that abandoned their abusive Alpha’s or their packs were ambushed. They hid in the shadows until they found a place for themselves”.

Poppy was right, there has been a rise in Packs being attacked and by the looks of it the Elders weren’t helping. The thousands of years the wolves worked with the Elders just for them to turn their backs when they needed them the most. We have taken a few young girls in who were found on the streets but the rise in the rouges has been unsettling.

“Do you think she would be there?” Poppy rubbed her eyes from the hours of reading.

“There’s only one way to find out?”

We had to find Francis’ mate and fast. During Kilian’s party three packs were attacked and no one knew by who or how they got through the boarders.  If we found her there would be two full grown wolves who were Xavier’s descendants.  We needed all the Royal Power we could get.

“There’s a problem though. Most of those wolves are not warriors  and if they are they would be old and weak. They wouldn’t have a clue who the Daughters are and it’s not like we can just go in and say ‘Can we look at your she-wolves please”.

“Then we will have to offer them the one thing they need. Warrior training” I gave her a little smirk fully knowing my plan would work.

“Let’s drive to Montgomery”.

“What?”

“Dark Shade Pack is in Montgomery”.

She better be there, I can’t be driving around the country for someone who isn’t even my mate. She better not reject him either.
