Me and Francis were walking down the stairs when I heard screaming coming from down the corridor. I dropped my bags and ran in the direction. Straight away maternal instincts kicked in as I knew my Daughters were in danger. I was glad we had wooden floors and not marble flooring as I would have fallen over already.
“LET IT GO” someone screamed .
“YOU LET GO” I saw Lauren holding onto a knife and fighting over it with no other than Cassidy.
“CASSIDY, LAUREN WHAT IS GOING ON?!” I shouted out.
“Mother tell her to let it go, I saw it first!” Lauren shouted.
“No Mother I did!”
I walked over to my Daughters and grabbed the knife away from them. I was beyond furious and saw red. No one was watching two young girls who were fighting over a weapon and what was worse was the fact that they were doing it on the day I was leaving. They had clear instructions on what they had to do whilst I was away, and they were disobeying me already.
“HOW DARE YOU PLAY AROUND WITH WEAPONS?” I shouted again. They both bowed their heads and put the knife on the floor for me to pick it up. “I don’t care who touched it first or even looked at it first. You both had things to do and if I’m not mistaken you should both be in training…. GO NOW!” I pointed to the door and they both walked out slowly.
I put the knife back in the cabinet when Estrid’s ears perked up.
“Mother?” Cassidy’s voice came from behind me.
“I told you to go and train. What’s going on?” I asked.
She was looking down and playing around with her shoes, she was hesitant to talk to me. Cassidy was a sweet girl and I loved her with my whole heart, but she knew how to get on my nerves.
“Mother I want to train with the older Daughters” she finally looked up and gave me an innocent look.
“Look, I know you’re bored with your sisters but training with the older Daughters is dangerous” she looked like she was about to cry and it was the last thing that I wanted. “You know when I was your age I use to do the same thing as you. Get into trouble so I get to train better, but I promise you, you don’t need to train with the older Daughters I will be here to protect you. Always” she gave me a smile and turned to walk out of the door.
“Ready to go?” Francis called from down the hall. “Where are we even going?”
“Montgomery” I answered.
“Okay and what’s in Montgomery?” he was as curious as me.
“There is a new pack and I think they would use our help. We are going to offer our training for free. I’m taking you with me as I don’t want to leave you alone and you need to train up a little as well”.
I was met outside with five of my top warriors, Georgia, Claudia, Lily, Samantha and Emma. I had to leave Poppy in charge and she was more than happy to be in charge of the Order and the training. I have done it multiple times in the past when I had to go and train packs. Whenever Poppy needed to release some anger she would go in my place and get her hands bloody. I knew being a Mother was more politically demanding than being the First Mother. I remembered the countless nights I would wait up for my own Blood Mother so put me to bed but she was always in her office dealing with Pack affairs. I needed to fight, I craved it and I wasn’t afraid to step down every now and then to get what I wanted.
We had to drive to Montgomery, which gave me more quality time with Francis. I learnt that he really was a good person not like our Father. However, the lingering feeling still played on my mind, what if the wolf changed him. The fresh air woke Estrid up as she shook her fur and stretched her paw.
Hello sleep head I woke her up.
I want to go for a run.
Only if you promise not to leave me again.
Our life is too exciting to leave you alone to live it
We took two cars and drove to Dark Shade Pack, for some reason Kilian popped into my head. We could potentially meet Francis’ mate and there was me thinking about mine. When he first told me I had a wolf in my head I wanted to drown him in a lake. When he brought her out, she took full control and pushed me aside. He taught me how to control her, how to be a Royal and most importantly he taught me how to love.
Ohhh Kilian I miss you, I thought to myself.
We pulled up to a small pack house with a few guards standing outside of it. It was surrounded by a small forest and it didn’t have a boarder. I knew they were a new Pack but they definitely needed to upgrade their defences.
“We are here to see your Alpha” I spoke out as I got out of the car.
“Leave your weapons by the door” one of the guards shouted.
Can you feel that? Estrid warned me. I really hoped Francis’ mate would be here but I didn’t want it to be so obvious.
“Francis why don’t you go for a walk around the Estate? This is just politics anyway” if Estrid was feeling odd she was clearly looking out for Francis.
We put our weapons on the ground and one of the guards led us into the Pack House. It was a beautifully remodelled with old wooden windows frames intact.
Walking around the Pack House I realised that it was in fact an old house that was decorated and extensions were added to make more room for wolves. There were pictures hanging on the walls, but they were all pictures of humans. The guard led us to a dark lit room, there were stack of books in all the corners of the room and the blinds were drawn shut. Usually, I would be on edge as I didn’t know what to expect, but I was craving blood I needed a good fight and I had a feeling I would get one. Even if I had to fight the Alpha, I was up for that.
“Alpha Alex, you have a visitor” the guard announced as I walked in behind him. He was talking to the man sitting in the large leather chair behind the desk. He was wearing a plain white shirt and had ruffled blonde hair. He gazed up from his paperwork and looked me up and down. His green eyes observing every curve on my body. When my Daughters walked in he did the same thing to them. “This is Mother Felicity and these are her Daughters they are….” he started.
“I know exactly who they are” Alpha Alex carried on looking down at his paperwork. “Leave us” he said to the guard. “I know why you are here” he stood up and put his pen on the desk.
“You have no idea why we are here” I was obviously referring to Francis currently walking on the ground of Dark Shade Pack unknowingly looking for his mate. I was killing two birds with one stone.
“You want to train my warriors for $10,000, so I will save you your time, we don’t have that kind of money to spend so sorry Mother but I will have to decline your offer” he bowed his head. He must have heard about me and who I was.
Suddenly I heard Estrid growling in my head. She was furious and was getting ready to come out. I didn’t know what caused her to react like this. Alex wasn’t a nasty Alpha; he was in fact quite polite. I knew I wanted a fight but I wasn’t going to fight him to satisfy her.
“I have had a better offer from my dear friend here” he gestured to one of the chairs in front of the desk. They were large leather ones so I didn’t see anyone sitting there as a I walked in. The chair turned around and I was met with a pair of brown eyes.
