“This is getting out of hand” I vanished into his room as I didn’t know what else to do. Our whole plan would crumble if I didn’t do something.
He sat in his chair pretending to care.
“You will stay at Marble and you will watch over him” he ordered harshly.
“I am, I have been watching over him for four years, but he is more like his mother. He always runs away from me” I threw my hands in the air.
He shot up and grabbed me by the throat. I tried to vanish but he had too much power over me. “I need that boy more than you can imagine. You need to keep him away from Kilian as much as he can. He is not like his mother, no one has seen her, she might be dead. Now find out what you can about the current situation” he dropped me to the floor and walked back to his desk.
“The Daughters are planning something; they are regrouping the wolves and they are providing protection” I coughed out.
“WHAT?!” He roared.
“A few weeks ago; two Daughters turned up, I recognised one as the one from the hospital from four years ago I didn’t see the other one. But a few days later another one turned up to the engagement party”.
“Find out what they are doing, now go. I don’t want to see your face anymore”.
Lucas POV
I heard the roar of some cars and I knew the Daughters have arrived. Kilian told me to leave him alone at Marble after he found out about Felicity, after smashing his whole office that is. He sat in the corner for hours not moving, he was completely broken. When he thought Felicity rejected him he was beyond furious, he spent a week in his wolf’s form. However, the realisation of still loving Felicity after all these years and her being his, was too much for him. I knew there were cases of people dying from literal heart break and I was worried it would happen to him.
He didn’t fight for her, if he tried he might have figured it out before.
If he believed in the mate bond, his son might have had a mother growing up.
His pack would have had a Luna.
There was also the problem of Violet becoming Luna in the matter of weeks.
I knew that my pack wasn’t weak but we did have a few new warriors and they needed to be trained. All my pack members had to help me with the building site and didn’t have time to train the new pups. I wanted all the help I could get. Steelix was ordering me what to do all day and was excited to be the new Alpha. I walked down to the entrance when I saw familiar colours, emerald-green and black. The Daughters were getting unpacked and were being welcomed by the Omegas. A glimpse of blonde hair got my attention. I picked up the pace and got closer to her, she must have sensed that I was here as she turned around rapidly. I was met with dark green eyes matching her armour, Steelix was jumping in exciting in my head.
I couldn’t believe it, Lily was here.
The shock on her face mirrored mine. I never expected her to be here, I thought Felicity would keep her close after she found out how I felt about Lily, but she did the opposite. She gave her back to me. Form Lily’s facial expression I knew that she didn’t even know Stonecross was mine. I was standing two meters away from her and the other Daughters were starting to pull out their swords. I looked at her wrists and I noticed that she wasn’t wearing the bracelet, this was really her.
“Hi” I said quietly. She didn’t respond though; she diverted her eyesight to the floor and refused to look at me. I knew I was going to win her over, it was only a matter of time.
I cleared my throat and stepped back to look at all my new trainers. Steelix whimpered from sadness, we knew she wasn’t our mate but she was mine, body and soul. I craved her touch, her smell and her sweet taste. I took a deep breath and tried to put those thoughts aside .. for now.
“Daughters, welcome to Stonecross. I am grateful that you are here. Please follow me and I will show you to your rooms, dinner will be served in two hours” I didn’t take my eyes off Lily as I said it.
She picked up her bag and walked passed me into the Pack House. I could see the amazement on her face as we walked through it. It was a modern house with glass walls and underfloor heating. I directed each Daughter to a room and left the best till last. I knew that the head trainer needed to be close to my office, maybe I subconsciously knew she was going to be here.
She still hasn’t said a word to me, I opened the door to her room and she walked in swiftly, her smell filling my nose as she walked past. It didn’t smell of flowers or food or the woods, it was a human smell but it was her smell. I couldn’t help but follow her into it. I turned around to lock the door and her sweet voice filled the room.
“I’m so sorry I didn’t know this is your Pack! Felicity sent me and she said that this pack needs help! If I knew I wouldn’t never have come. Please don’t be angry I’m not here out of spite. I promised you that you will never see me again “ she wasn’t stopping to breathe and was rambling like a mad person. I slowly walked towards her and put my hands on her cheeks. “I mean yeah, Kilian mentioned your name in the meeting but I wasn’t paying any attention and I wouldn’t have come if I knew. I’m so sorry. I don’t want things to get awkward between the Daughters and Stonecross. Ohh Moon Goodness your Luna, she can’t know” I crashed my lips against hers just to shut her up. Her hands were still on either side of her body from flinging them around as she rambled. My heart felt whole, my whole life complete.
“Hi” I whispered again.
She took a deep breath and looked up at me again. Her face was still full of shame and sadness but I knew I was grinning like a child at Christmas.
“Hi”
“Do you ever shut up?” I asked still cupping her face in my palms.
“I mean it she can’t know about this” Lily stepped back and took a deep breath in.
“I don’t have a Luna, I never found my mate” I admitted, approaching her again.
“You haven’t?” she asked quietly.
“It’s always been you” I pulled her body into mine by grabbing her hips and I immediately got hard. She wasn’t my mate but the pull to be with her was immense. “I’ve always loved you”.
(Lucas’ and Lily’s story will continue in the Third instillation of this Trilogy.
