Prologue
Luke stopped believing in love at fourteen, when he realized that the people around him were there for nothing more than sheer convenience. But of course, who wouldn't want to be with a person who came from a family as powerfully wealthy as the Martinez family? At his young age, discovering such a thing seemed quite unpleasant and painful, but when he turned eighteen, he couldn't care less if people were good or not. He was fine with his own company.
Luke was walking on the streets of a big neighborhood where, unfortunately for him, everyone knew him. No matter how much he tried to avoid any communication with people, his presence was very noticeable, so everyone who passed him greeted him, while he pretended not to pay attention.
«Hypocrites» he thought as he took a sip of his coffee made by one of the babies of his house. His gaze was completely fixed on his phone, but he wasn't the only one distracted on the road. His concentration was interrupted when his body was collided with another slightly smaller one. There was no doubt, Lucas was quite frustrated, he did not think to remain silent, but when his eyes as dark as night connected with emerald ones, his brain simply went blank.
