Chapter Two

[Kat's P.O.V] "I don't think so," he says, his nose skimming my collarbone, my hands locked under his. I growl as his hands release my hands, only for them to make contact once more, sliding down my waist before pulling it flush against his. "I'm warning you," I say, and this sounded weak even to my ears. "Oh, are you now?" He asks. Then just as quick as he came, he left. I'm so confused, my head a jumble. I hunt through the crowd but I can't seem to find him. Suddenly I see his retreating figure so I follow him. He's walking toward a guest house for the Abyss pack. My stomach sinks as I realize who he is, Alpha Elias, the Blind Alpha. He moved with so much grace. He was so confident; I would never have guessed. "So now you know," he says over his shoulder, his back towards me, his eyes cast toward the woods. "I don't care," I say, stepping toward him. "You don't think I don't know who you are. As soon as I smelled you, I knew who you were. Kat Archer," He spits, "The famous warrior, and now you're the mate of a blind wolf." He barks out a laugh, and I can't believe what I'm hearing. "Elias-" I begin, but he cuts me off. "Don't you dare act as if you know me," He says, turning to face me, and that's when I see it. The light milky white film is covering his luminous green eyes, the way they stared forward, unseeing. The sunlight cast a light tint to his eyes, making everything I couldn't see known. I step back, confused. Why was he acting like this? "I'm okay with you rejecting me. I mean, how could someone like you have a mate like me" he spits out bitterly. "You don't know me, Elias" I say, using his words against him. "Don't push me away," I plead. Suddenly he's gripping my upper arms. "You're an i***t," he says, shoving me away. "I'm not," I say, baring my canines, my wolf pissed about how violent he was being. "Oh, but you are. If you weren't stupid, you'd be running the hell away from me and never looking back. I'm not good for anyone," He says, and my heart skips a beat. Was he right? Should I listen to this man? I felt stupid for even thinking this. The goddess must have put us together for a reason, and I wasn't going to leave him when he needed someone the most. "Elias," I draw his attention by putting my hand on his shoulder. He tenses but makes no move to step away. "I'm not walking away from you," I say, and he growls, shoving me away. "Don't follow me," he says, slamming the door to the pack house. I headed back toward the ceremonial room, and the party was exactly the same as I had left it, except for the small argument in the back. A girl in a tight dress watches as two males peacock in front of her, her eyes full of desire. I roll my eyes and head toward them. "Break it up," I hiss, my eyes blazing in anger. "Who do you think you are, mutt?" One asks. Man, I was getting asked this question a lot today. "Your worst nightmare," I snarl and yank him by his collar. His eyes widen, and I snap in his face. "Now I said to cut this s**t out. Next time I advise you to listen to me immediately. Am I clear?" I ask my canines mere inches from him. "Yes," He says, and I release him. I turn to make my way back toward the door when a hand slaps my ass. I take a deep breath hearing the chuckles of the three behind me. I turn, allowing my right fist to connect to the wolf's face. He falls back, clutching his right eye and my eyes meet the other male wolf. He's staring down at the other wolf before taking off. "That's what I thought," I whisper. I turned, and the whole room had gone quiet. Surprise registered on their faces, and I roll my eyes heading toward the entrance. "Well, that was quite a show," someone muses, and I glance up. The wolf from earlier stood there, his eyes on me. He was a handsome wolf, this much, I had to admit. Though compared to Elias, he wasn't even in the same league. He had sandy-colored hair, and the brightest blue eyes I had ever seen. His build was lean, and I knew he was quick on his feet. "And you are?" I ask, crossing my arms. "Beta Ky, Elias is my Alpha," he says, and I stare at him with hard eyes. "Oh really? I'm happy to tell you to f**k off as well," I retort. He chuckles and looks at me curiously. "I'm guessing Elias didn't take too kindly to you?" He asks, and I mock surprise. "You're a freaking genius. How did you know?" I say dryly. He rolls his eyes. "I can see why you're Elias' mate," and he watches as I head out of the room. Elias' P.O.V] I couldn't believe the nerve of this female. My mind swirled around one idea, what did she look like? I mind-link Ky, and he laughs as soon as I ask. "She's f*****g hot. With fiery red hair and emerald eyes. And damn, don't get me started on how her body moved as she fought," he teases, and I growl in warning. My back straightens, and a growl vibrates through my chest. "What fight?" I say, my voice is dangerously low. [Kat's P.O.V] My body falls onto the bed, and I'm out like a light. I wake up in the morning and change into a tank top and leggings. I pull on my jogging shoes, throw my hair into a ponytail, and grab water. My door shuts with a click, and I take off running on my morning jog. I passed by familiar faces, but they weren't who I wanted to see. I was hoping I'd catch sight of Elias, but he had made it clear that he wanted no part with me. My wolf was hurt. She wanted nothing more than to mate with this attractive man.
