Shamima's Dynasty

"The hospital room was a blur of beeping machines and sterile white walls, but all Shamima could focus on was her sister's still form. She sat beside the bed, holding Baci's hand and willing her to wake up. It had been three weeks since the accident, and everyone had started to lose hope,but not Shamima. Dr. Steven entered the room, his expression detached and uncaring. "Shamima, we've reviewed Baci's case, and it's time to discuss end-of-life care." He spoke bluntly, without empathy, his eyes fixed on the chart in his hand. "Her brain activity is minimal, and we're not seeing any improvement. It's time to consider pulling the plug." Shamima's grip on Baci's hand tightened, her heart racing with panic. "No, you can't give up on her. She's going to wake up, I know it." She felt a surge of desperation and anger at the doctor's callous words. Dr. Steven raised an eyebrow, his tone condescending. "Shamima, you're not a medical professional. You need to understand that Baci's chances of recovery are slim to none. We're wasting resources and prolonging her suffering by keeping her on life support." Shamima's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at her sister. She felt a fierce determination to protect Baci, even if it meant fighting the doctor. "You're just going to give up on her? You're supposed to be her doctor, not her executioner." The doctor's expression remained unyielding. "I'm just stating the facts, Shamima. You need to face reality." Shamima's anger and frustration boiled over. She knew she had to fight for Baci's life, even if it meant going against the doctor's recommendations. "Moreover, you're not paying up the bills,and seeing how it has accumulated now,I don't think you ever can." Dr. Steven stated while looking at Shamima with mockery. " Oh so that is your reason for wanting to pull the plug on my sister isn't it? But don't worry, I will work hard and pay no matter what the dept is". Shamima said with shear determination in her voice.. " Haha darling,I don't think so. Moreover,this hospital isn't run on promises of poor people. Especially yours!" " I am not poor. I am a very hardworking girl. I will do anything it'll take to pay the bills. Anything!" she declared. He clearly his throat and spoke. " Anything, you say"? " Anything" ,she repeated. "Well there's one thing you could do for me,that is,if you're willing to do anything" "what do you want me to do "? "Follow me to my office and let's not disturb your sister, shall we"? Shamima run her hand over her sister's forehead in a gentle caress and stood up . The doctor walked towards his office and she followed behind. He opened the door when they got there and ushered her inside and closed the door once she was in. She stood aside as he moved towards his chair after locking the door. "sit,sit" he said, pointing towards the chairs and she went to sit. He clearly his throat and continued. "So you said you'll do anything. I want to see just how far you can go" He stood up and came to sit at the edge of the desk, just Infront of her. He tried holding her hands but she pulled away. He smiled and got up from the desk and walked to the door. He removed the key from the door and came back and stood behind her. She shifted uncomfortably in the chair. He placed his hands on her shoulders from behind and she stood up at once. He smirked when she did that. "What are you trying to do"? She asked "You're matured,you know. Stop pretending like you don't want it ". "What are talking about "? she asked with confusion etched all over her face. He laughed coldly and held her arm. "Let me show you, since you want to pretend!" With that,he pushed her on the desk and trapped her between his legs. That was when realization hit her and she started to panic. " Get off me ,you pervert!" she said while trying to push him off,but that only made him increase his efforts in trying to take off her blouse. She groped and felt something smooth. She took it and swung with all her strength at him. It was a paperweight,she observed, after it made contact with his head. He screamed out of pain and held his head. She used the distraction to get the key and started towards the door. She had just inserted the key into the keyhole when he grabbed her from behind and flung her away. She hit her side on the cupboard and cried with pain.He removed the key and threw it carelessly on the floor and walked towards her on the floor in a menacing manner. As she lay down there wimping in pain,he held her arm and dragged her to the desk. He slapped her and started tearing up her clothes. She used her last strength to try to stop him but he was too much for her. She cried out in pain at the thought that she wasn't going to save her sister after all. She resigned to her faith and waited for it to happen with tears running down her cheeks. All of a sudden ,the door was thrown open and a man walked in. "Who the f**k has the audacity to interrupt m...." The rest of the words got caught up in his throat when he turned and saw the person . The man who had just come in walked slowly towards them, with his hands in his pocket. Just before Shamima succumbed to unconsciousness,she saw the man throw a punch at the doctor's jaw and he screamed out in pain. Two other men who were dressed in all black came in and dragged the doctor away while the man took Shamima in his arms and walked out of the room and into an elevator. The people who were gathered there watched as another man joined them and pressed a button and the doors to the elevator closed and hid them from the onlookers. The beeps of the machines woke Shamima up 13 hours later. She looked around and tried to get up but the excruciating pain at her side made her lie down. A man who had been sleeping initially, scrambled to his feet and went closer to her. "I'm thirsty" ,she told him. He went to get water for her and helped her drink it. Who are you and how did I get here? She asked "I am secretary Bangira lana. My boss saved you earlier on from the man who was harassing you. He asked me to stay here with you until you regain consciousness. Speaking of bosses,let me update him on your progress and get back to you " He walked out after saying that. In about a few minutes,a man walked in followed by the secretary. She recognized him as the man who had saved her. She tried to smile but only ended up wincing with pain. He got to where she was and spoke "You're awake"? "Yes" "How are you feeling"? "Apart from the pain trying to end me right now, I'm fine". "Right,that is expected,but you'll be fine soon. Are you hungry"?. "Yes" Okay. Then turning to the other man,he spoke rapidly to him before turning back to ask her. "Any allergies I should know about"? 'No' He nodded to secretary Bangira lana and he went off. Then he turned to her "Should I help you sit or something"?. "No I'm fine" "Okay" he said and brought a chair closer to the bed and sat down. "How is my sister's doing? Can go and see her"? "She's doing okay. I had her transferred to the room next to this one,so it'll be easier for you to go see her and also she'll receive better treatment" "Oh that sounds nice. Thank you. My name is Shamima Anneliese Partañ,but I'm pretty sure you know that already. What's your name?" "You're right,I do. I'm Pelecy."
