LUPUS
She was a goddess in the body of a human, the way her red hair flew across her face, brushing past her was all I could think about as I turned and tossed in my sleep. Lykos was in a continuous battle with me, the last time I saw her was in the deep forest, where there was no one and anyone could have easily harmed her, so I stayed there, protecting her. She was oblivious to my presence.
It was some weeks ago, she left after what it felt like she was clearing her head and I wondered if it was because of the male we had killed that day. Was I the reason she had to go through so much? The unsettling feeling at the bottom of my stomach grew, knowing I was responsible for all of it.
Lykos had gone ahead and peeked at her when she was taking a bath in the river, it was inappropriate, so very disrespectful to do so. 'Don't lie, you liked it as much as I did' I groaned at what Lykos said, we didn't really see much, only her bare skin, no parts visible as she was under the water and I was glad that she was deep inside the water.
I remember strolling in the forest, near the village's borders when my nose picked up the sweet smell in the air, it was mouth watering, her scent was enough for my wolf to take control and run towards the direction where her smell was going from.
And she was the most gorgeous woman my eyes landed on.
My eyes close shut, I was furious at myself, at my wolf, for losing control over my thoughts every second, as it drifted to think about her. The royal palace was in perfect silence, the only thing that could be heard was the noise made by the crickets in the surrounding, with my arms under my head, I gazed up at the ceiling, if I closed my eyes, my mind would only be thinking about her and only her.
Deciding to get up, I paved my way out of my room. The north wing was void of anyone except from a room which was occupied by my brother; Adonis. He was at the moment had no other place to go and he was here for some days, he had claimed that he had to go somewhere to go.
It's been centuries since Moon Goddess created me and my four brothers, followed by a girl, our little sister. I was supposedly the first Lycan to step on the earth, she created us to defeat the army of vampires centuries ago, we had fought, me and my brothers along with other werewolves Moon Goddess had formed. We were meant to live for eternity, we were immortals, nothing could kill us.
"Brother, can't sleep?" Adonis rubbed his right eye, a yawn escaping his mouth. The shirt he wore was hanging low on his shoulder and he had his hair messed. Unlike mine, his hair was brunette. We had the same blue eyes but as our wolf surfaced, they changed to the colour of gold.
I held my hands behind my back and stared at him. "What? I heard that you were able to win the War Of Argos? I'm glad to hear about it" Saying, he placed his hand on my shoulder. Adonis had never been here during the war period, he would have fled away to some place we couldn't find, ever. "And may I ask you, where the hell were you during all this time?"
"I told you, I had to be somewhere, my presence was required" I sighed, there was no use of conversing with him and asking him to spill out everything because he wouldn't. That was how Adonis was, secretive and mysterious, hard to c***k, even though from outside he looked easy going.
"Fenris is doing alright?" Adonis asks as I was about to turn around and leave, turning my head at him, I saw his eyebrows knitted together into a frown. Nodding my head at his question, I made no further conversation with him and left from his room. Fenris was at war with me, we all were, but we parted our ways, they had no desire to be a King or be known as a royal.
I've built my own empire centuries ago, they had voted me and made me a King, it was solemnly because of them that I had become a King.
Staring out of the window, I wondered if Accalia was still in that small cottage, I had to force Lykos to leave her alone and to not do anything which would scare her. The last thing I wanted to do was to hurt or scare her. The night was dark and the moon was shining brightly, my wolf wanted to have a run, as it jumped up and down in my head, wagging its tail.
'Can we go to mate?'
'No' I answer Lykos firmly, if this was what he was going to do when left out in wolf form, no, I wasn't going to let him do it. He would jump at any opportunity to be with her and all I wanted was to keep my distance from her.
Lykos growled loudly, I pushed him back, shutting his thoughts off. I turned around to find my beta; Griffin standing with his hands tucked behind his back, he was looking at me with a worried expression. "My lord, are you having trouble sleeping?" He asks with his eyes fixed at me.
Was I supposed to tell him that I wasn't able to sleep because of her?
"I certainly am" He nods his head, not asking any further questions to me. We looked at the night sky, now there were stars twinkling up in the air, I sighed. For centuries, I looked for her, for my mate but she wasn't anywhere, instead I found her just closer to me. The village was close to the castle.
Has she ever seen me? Does she gets to hear things about me like others do? I've done nothing but kindness for my people and I wasn't going to let them down by doing something harmful. "It's soon going to rain heavily, do I arrange for warm clothes?" I stared outside, tonight the sky was clear but soon, it was going to be surrounded by heavy, rain clouds. I nod my head at him.
Griffin bows his head at me and takes my leave. I stand in solitude silence, it's insane how a girl was able to cloud over my mind for so many days. 'Mate is beautiful' Lykos said, and I hum in agreement.

After several attempts of stopping Lykos from dragging me into the deep forest, I couldn't resist him any longer as he kept growling and irritating me. 'If we were to get caught, I am not letting you run out for a week' I state to him in an annoyed tone but Lykos is too busy wagging his tail and taking his tongue out while the saliva rolls down.
Not minutes later after settling at the top of a branch, Accalia comes into our sight, she has her hair tied into a bun and her eyes look dull and unhappy. Lykos doesn't like to see at the sight of Accalia being dejected, he howls in pain as well.
She has a loaf of bread in her hand, the infirmary is a bit close to the forest, I zoom my eyes in to see her perfectly. Accalia tears a piece of the bread and chews it numbly.
She swallows it down, and she lets out a sigh. Was I the reason for everything she was going through? Of Course I was, I killed someone who was close to her. I'm filled with guilt and regret, if only my wolf was in my control.
Accalia stares at the sky, why was she awake at this time? Did she have a lot of work to do? What did she do for a living? Was it a hard job for her to do? I have a lot of questions but not an answer to anyone one of them. I'm curious about the red headed girl, who was she? 'Let's go to her' Lykos jumped excitedly.
'f**k no' Before he could have done anything or anymore silly thing, I jumped onto another branch effortlessly and left before anyone was able to see me. Lykos was going to be a pain in the ass for the next couple of days.
'Go to mate, go to mate, go to mate' I took it as a cue and blocked Lykos completely until I reached the castle.
