I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE

The following morning, Hayley jumped up from her bed and headed for the shower humming a song.

Tracy, who had slept over woke up by the sound of the shower and smiled as she heard Hayley humming.

Hayley stepped out of the bathroom and saw Tracy awake and smiled.

"You are awake" she said.

Tracy nodded her head " yes. Someone was too loud "

Hayley smiled " sorry "

Tracy smiled. She couldn't help it seeing her friend this happy" Are you that happy?"

Hayley nodded her head "Yes.i'm so happy"

Tracy watched as Hayley got dressed" what time is he coming?"

Hayley paused and smiled nervously" I didn't ask him"

Tracy shook her head " This is bad"

"I mean he suddenly asked me out so I was surprised but he will call, won't he ?"

Tracy nodded her head " whatever. Just hurry up and dress up . You are making me feel bad for being single"

Hayley threw on a black short gown which was slightly above her knees and put on a little makeup.

Her phone rang and she smiled expecting it to be Kenny but it was her mother.

Her smile wiped off her face as she picked the call" hello?"

" Hayley, how are you ? "Her mother asked " are you doing well?"

"Why did you call ?" Hayley asked with her voice shaking.

"MOM!!!"Hayley heard her younger sister scream.

"You are doing it again" Hayley said shaking and breaking down in tears "YOU ARE DOING IT AGAIN!!!" she screamed" don't call me. You decided not to leave that house so don't call me ever again, do you understand!!!??"

Hayley ended the call as Tracy rushed over to her side.

"What is the matter ? Who was it ?"Tracy asked

Hayley wiped her tears "it was Mom"

Tracy's eyes widened" Are you okay? Can you still go out ?"

"I have to " Hayley said retouching her makeup" I have to g-"

Hayley passed out on the floor as Tracy shook her body ."hey, wake up . Hayley!!!"

Kenny smiled as he packed his car Infront of Hayley's apartment and called her.

Tracy picked up the call" Hey, help me. Hayley has passed out"

Kenny rushed up to her apartment and when he walked in, he rushed to Hayley's side "hey, wake up " he turned to Tracy " what happened?"

"She just passed out"

Kenny backed Tracy " Put her on my back , hurry"

Tracy put Hayley on Kenny's back and he carried her downstairs to this car and drove off to the nearest hospital.

When they got to the hospital, the doctor's immediately attended to Hayley while Kenny and Tracy waited outside her ward for her to wake up.

Tracy's hands kept on shaking. Kenny noticed this and put his hand on hers " she's going to be okay. Don't worry "

Tracy instantly removed his hand from hers .

The gesture shocked Kenny " I'm sorry. You were shaking too much and I thought I could be of help "

A nurse came out of Hayley's ward and looked from Tracy to Kenny" The patient just woke up .you may go and see her now"

Tracy rushed in and sobbed as she hugged Hayley." I was so scared"

Hayley hugged Tracy back " I'm sorry"

When they refrained from eachother, Hayley noticed Kenny " oh, you are here?"

"He brought you here" Tracy said .

"Are you feeling okay?"Kenny asked Hayley.

Hayley smiled and nodded her head " I'm sorry."

Kenny smiled " what's there to be sorry about? We were hot to spend the whole day together today and this way we can "

Hayley laughed as Tracy gave Kenny a death stare " hey, that's not even funny"she turned to face Hayley" stop laughing. i'm out of here"

Tracy left leaving Kenny and Hayley alone in the ward.

"Thank you" Hayley said " for bringing me here"

"Do you want to talk about it?"

She shook her head " No . Not yet, anyways"

"Then sleep. You must be tired "

"Can you still be here when I wake up?"

Kenny locked her hands in his " I'm not going anywhere. I promise"

Later that evening, Kenny walked Hayley home.

"Go in " Kenny said smiling.

"Thank you once again"

"It was nothing. I'm going. Take care "

"Okay" Hayley said and walked in. Her friend, Tracy wasn't staying over today so it was just her and her big house.

She was tired so she showered and jumped on her bed to sleep when the nightmare came.

She hadn't had it in along while but the call with her mother must have triggered it.

That memory she'd desperately wanted to keep buried and the reason she'd moved out of her house.

Her father had strode in that night and dragged 10 years old her by her hair out if her room .

He was drunk. You could smell alcohol standing 5feets from him .

He'd slapped Hayley and threw her on the floor.

Her mother and younger sister had rushed out .

"Honey , stop it " her mother shouted trying to break him off from Hayley but her husband had pushed and she fell and slammed her head against the wall.

" You" her father said pointing to her "I'm going to teach you a lesson today "

Her father threw her across the room once more and she fell hitting her head against a nail on the wall.

That night ,Hayley kept on shaking as this memory resurfaced drenching herself with her sweat and tears.

Hayley woke up the following morning with a startle.

She got up from her bed goes to the bathroom to wash her face. It's been long since she's had that nightmare.

She goes back into her room and takes her pill.

She usually dates to keep herself from thinking about that memory but now it was consuming her thought.

Her phone rang and she picked it up after the first ring; it was Tracy.

"Are you up? " Tracy asked

"Yes. Just now" she looked around her empty house " I'm bored"

Tracy softly laughed"Romeo isn't coming?"

"Seriously 'romeo'? besides I thought you didn't like him"

"That's was before I saw how concerned he was about you when you passed out. He's a keeper. Well-done, my Friend"

Hayley laughed " what are you saying?" She had an incoming call and it was Kenny" Hey, he's calling. I'll talk to you later"

She picked up his call" hello?"

"It's me . Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Kenny asked

Hayley smiled "I'm fine."

Kenny left out a huge sigh"That's a relief. What are you up to ?"

"Nothing much . You ?"

"Then , can we can on our date today?"

"Date?"

Kenny chuckled" sorry, I must have surprised you by saying that"

"No, it's okay. So where should we meet?"

"How about your house? You must still be feeling abit week from yesterday"

"Yes. That's fine. What time will you be here?"

"In 30 minutes, later "

The line went beep as Hayley stared at her phone in shock "30 minutes?"

Tracy hadn't stayed over so the house wasn't all that messy but she still did some tidying. After that , she quickly rushed to the bathroom and threw on some comfortable clothes when a soft knock was heard.

She opened it and invited Kenny in.

Kenny smiled at her as he walked in holding some snacks" I got you something"

She closed the door and took the snacks from him"Thank you"

Kenny looked around"Where's your sister?"

"My sister?"

"Yes, that girl"

"Oh, her. She's my friend not my sister"

"So you live alone?"Kenny asked unsettled

"Yes. Why?"

"This is bad. It's like I have to drop by everyday".

Hayley laughed.

"Anyway be careful, okay?"

" I get it" Hayley said laughing"shall we watch a movie?"

Kenny nodded his head as he brought out some CD's that he'd brought along" I brought some. Do you like horror?"

Hayley nodded her head. Anything was fine .

She'd desperately didn't want to be alone today because of that nightmare she had.

That memory. She didn't want to be alone rethinking and reliving it .

And then Kenny had showed up. She couldn't help but fall in love with him more.
