Hayley had always known from the start that she had a supernatural ability to draw jerks and lowlifes to her. That is the only way to explain this because for the umpteenth time , someone was breaking up with her ..again . Hayley balled her fist so that she wouldn't cry. She shouldn't cry for a jerk like him. " Why ? Why are you breaking up with me?" Hayley asked. Damien scoffed " isn't of obvious? You don't love me " Hayley looked up at him " and when did I ever say that?" " You don't kiss me , you don't hug me . Is this even dating?" Damien said angrily. Hayley scoffed. It was clear now. This jerk dated her to sleep with her and get going. He's better off gone , she decided She smiled" fine, let's break up " Damien's eyes widened" see I was right, you never loved me . Have a nice life " Damien stood up and walked away from the cafe. Hayley balled her fist harder. Don't cry. She told herself. Hold it in. She stood up and left the cafe. Everyone she'd dated always broke up with her after a day or two. She looked up and saw a guy handing her an handkerchief. She couldn't help but stare at him. She should have been wise. Like those girls in the movies and build a wall around her heart and say no to love. But like a fool, she fell in love with this stranger instantly. Hayley stared at the stranger for a long while. He sighed" I'll do it then " he proceeded to wipe off her tears for her. Hayley's heart started beating rapidly " Are you okay ?" He asked. Hayley hadn't notice how close he was still she felt his breath of her. She backed away slightly" I'm fine now . Thank you" He smiled "who is the jerk?" " What ?" When it calmed down a little , she looked up at him " hey " He smiled " what ?" "You are too close " He laughed and backed away " sorry. It was a mistake" Finally feeling able to breathe again, Hayley smiled. A drunk Damien passed by and saw Hayley smiling and a guy Infront of her and scoffed " she is smiling?we just broke up and who is that guy ? " He walked towards them " hey, so you really didn't love me , huh?" He said to Hayley. Hayley shivered at seeing Damien " You cheating w***e"he launched at Hayley but the guy punched Damien . Hayley screamed. He took hold of Hayley's hand " let's go " She nodded her head and they ran away together hand in hand They stopped running when they were far from the scene and took time to catch their breaths . "D-Did you kill him?" Hayley stuttered The guy shook his head " no, I punched him hard enough to knock him out. He was drunk" he faced Hayley in confusion" are you worried about him?" " I mean-" " He called you a w***e! " The guy shouted" if I hadn't interfered he would have hit you or done something worse. Get home safely"The guy said and walked away in anger. Hayley called for a cab and hopped in when it arrived. His words kept in playing in her head ; you are to nice for your own good. It wasn't the first time she has heard it. No, her best friend Tracy had told her too before. When her boyfriend, two exes ago had come back to her after breaking up and sleeping with another girl. " Don't take him back !" Tracy had shouted" are you an i***t? He came back because he knew you would accept him . You doesn't love you !!!" " you don't know that! " Hayley had shouted back. You are too nice for your own good but I don't know if this is you being nice or stupid " And she'd left walked away. When the cab stopped Infront of her house, she climbed down and headed in. There she saw Tracy who had been waiting for her " Hey, where have you been ? I've been calling you " Tracy whined rushing to Hayley" you look worse than before. Is everything alright?" Hayley walked into her room" no. We broke up " Shock was allover Tracy's face " What ?hey, stop dating. Just remain forever single. I will protect you " " Really? I should just do that , right ??" She jumped on her bed" I'm bored " she grumbled " what do I do now ?" Tracy went towards the window side " hey" " What?" " There's a weird guy down there looking this way " Hayley carried a nail clipper to clip her nail" he's probably bored too". Tracy faced her and shouted" hey, this is serious. Come look " Hayley got up from her bed and went towards the window and her eyes broadened. It was that guy. That stranger. " Hey, I'll be back soon " Hayley said to Tracy and rushed down to meet him. " What are you doing here ?" Hayley asked him. " I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said what I said to you " " You came all this way to apologize?" Hayley asked strangely but her heart was already pounding. " Yes " " how did you know where I live ?" He looked away from her eyes " actually, I didn't feel right after what I said so when I left, I stood behind a building to watch you take a cab Incase that guy came after you again and it's not like I had your number to call and apologize so I followed you rather "his eyes met her " A-Are you angry ?" Hayley smiled. Tracy was right . This was ridiculous " no " He brushed his hand on her cheeks " I'm really sorry for what I said. Were you hurt by it ?" Hayley nodded her head " A little but it woke me up " He smiled " then I'm relieved" he handed her his phone " can I get your number?" Hayley blushed as she took his phone and dialed her number. He took back his phone " are you busy tomorrow?" "No , why ?" He smiled " you will find out tomorrow. I'll call you, make sure to save my number" " What is your name ?" " Kenny and yours?" "Hayley" He smiled" See you tomorrow , Hayley" and walked away. Hayley smiled as she went back to inside and Tracy closed the curtain as she moved away from the window. She titled her head in confusion" that's weird. I definitely saw him holding a knife before or did I not ?" Hayley entered the room and started screaming "we are going out tomorrow!!"
