CHAPTER FOURTEEN There was a good turnout for the meeting with the local police that evening to discuss the capture of Simon Paterson. The capture of the escaped convict, the murderer, the r****t, Simon Paterson. The men were up in arms about the safety of their women. Their wives, their daughters, their sisters. Emotions were running high. The room was filled to capacity with testosterone. Peter had made David go along with him whilst the two women stayed at home with the boys. David wouldn’t have gone if he hadn’t been forced into it by Peter. He was not one for confrontation, and as much as some of the men were there out of genuine concern, there was an element of bravado from about a third of the room, in which Peter was included.
