CHAPTER FIFTEEN
A few weeks had passed, and Martha had not brought up the house move to anyone. At times, she had felt it was the elephant in the room between her and Mae. The truth was she didn’t want to leave. As much as she knew what was happening between her and Peter was wrong, she still felt like she needed Mae. She knew that was selfish but she didn’t know who she was anymore. She was lost, confused and dangerous. She used to be so sure of herself. She used to be so judgemental of Mae, but it seemed that Martha wasn’t quite the woman she thought she was. Life had changed her. You could say the same for Mae. Perhaps Mae was the one with blurry morals previously; however, she was loyal to her husband and her friend.
