I strongly kicked the door where Raina and Mr. Wang were inside. My vision suddenly darkened when I saw that Mr. Wang's upper clothing was off, and he was starting to undress my unconscious wife, who was lying on the bed.
"You're a shameless beast!!!" I shouted angrily. Then I attacked Mr. Wang, I strongly punched him in the face. With the intense anger I felt towards him at that moment, I wouldn't be surprised if I killed him.
"Stop it now, Evo! Mr. Wang is no longer moving. You might kill him," Tom firmly stopped me. But I didn't stop punching and kicking the person who wanted to violate my wife. Tom and Pit were forced to work together to restrain me because I might end up killing Mr. Wang.
"Mr. Wang is unconscious, Boss. We'll take him to the precinct to file charges," Pit said to me as I finally allowed them to take Mr. Wang away from me.
"He will pay for what he did! I'll make sure he rots in prison," I said to them, my face red with anger.
"I'll take care of Mr. Wang, Evo. Just take Raina to the hospital," Tom said to me before dragging Mr. Wang's unconscious body out of the room.
I immediately approached Raina on the bed and gently shook her body to wake her up.
"Raina! Wake up." I stopped shaking her shoulder when I noticed that her whole body was extremely hot. Her face was also red. Something is not right.
I cursed loudly and punched the bed when I realized that Raina had been given some kind of drug, which is why her body was so hot. And if I'm not mistaken, it was an aphrodisiac that was given to my wife.
I hurriedly carried Raina out of the hotel to take her to the hospital. To avoid drawing attention, I took the private elevator. It was already a basement parking lot when I exited the elevator, so I went straight to my car parked near the elevator.
While we were on our way to the hospital, I called my friend Congressman Wilbert Tolentino. I told him that I had an emergency, so I couldn't go back to the room to join him for dinner. I just promised him that I would make it up to him next time.
I secretly thanked that Raina and I were in the same hotel. So when I texted Raina and asked if she had eaten, and then she replied, I found out that she was also at Lux Hotel. It was a good thing I thought of bringing my friend to our hotel for dinner.
We were about to start eating earlier when I received a call from Raina. I excused myself briefly from my friend to answer my wife's call. I frowned when no one was answering on the other line.
I thought that maybe Raina accidentally pressed the call button. I was about to end the call when I heard her strange voice. And that's when I realized that something bad was happening to her.
I didn't waste any time. I sent Tom to check the security CCTV footage to find out the exact room where Raina was. Meanwhile, I started checking each private room while waiting for Tom's call.
When Tom called me and told me which floor and room Raina and Mr. Wang were in, I immediately rushed to save my wife.
I felt intense fear earlier while I couldn't see that Raina was safe. I was afraid that I might be late and Mr. Wang would succeed in his evil plan against her. In my entire life, this is the first time I've felt such fear.
As a politician, I have many enemies in politics, especially those corrupt officials. Because of that, there have been attempts on my life more than once. But I never felt even a little fear. So it's only now that I'm feeling scared. And that's because of Raina.
When we arrived at the hospital, Raina was immediately taken to the emergency room, especially after the doctors learned from me that my wife was pregnant. While waiting outside the E.R., I couldn't stop praying that nothing bad would happen to our baby. Pregnant women are not allowed to take any medication without their doctor's permission, especially since she had taken an aphrodisiac.
I waited for almost an hour before a doctor came out of the emergency room. I quickly approached the doctor to inquire.
"How is my wife, Doc? Our baby? Are they both safe?" I asked the doctor anxiously.
"Don't worry, Mr. Mondragon. Both your wife and child are safe," the doctor replied to me with a smile. "It's a good thing you brought her to the hospital early, so nothing bad happened to your baby."
I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard what the doctor said. I also secretly thanked God because He saved my wife and child.
"Thank you very much, Doctor Chavez," I expressed my gratitude to him. We know each other because their hospital is one of the lucky hospitals that receive donations from the foundation my father established when he was still alive.
"It's my job, Mr. Mondragon. Next time, tell your wife that taking aphrodisiacs is prohibited. You can still make love, but she should not take any stimulants or body warmers because it could harm her pregnancy."
I swallowed softly when I heard what Dr. Chavez said. He probably thought Raina deliberately took an aphrodisiac to enhance our intimacy. But I didn't correct his misconception. I just nodded in agreement with what he said.
After the doctor informed me that my wife and child were safe, he excused himself to attend to his other patients. A few moments later, Raina was taken out of the emergency room and transferred to the recovery room.
I chose a spacious solo room so Raina could rest peacefully and quietly. After the doctors and attendants left, I approached my wife, took one of her hands, and kissed it lightly. Her face was slightly pale, but that did not diminish her inherent beauty.
I couldn't blame Mr. Wang for being attracted to Raina. She was very beautiful. She's brave but has a kind heart. Wasn't it her stunning and innocent face that led me to have a one-night stand with her the first time we met at the bar? It was my first and last time having a one-night stand with a woman I had just met.
I've had several one-night stands before. Of course, I'm a healthy man, and I have needs as a man. But only with women I've known for a long time.
And after one night, I make sure they won't chase after me. But Raina is different. After something happened between us that night, she never left my mind.
I tried to find her but no one knew her at the bar. I guess it was her first time visiting that bar.
When I saw her on the night of my engagement party with Rina and found out she was the latter's sister, I felt a deep sense of regret. But when I learned she was pregnant and I might be the father, I felt hopeful. I immediately canceled the engagement party and wedding with Rina and then proposed marriage to Raina. I think it was our fate that brought us together again. I believe that we are destined to meet each other in this life.
