Smooth Flight

“I'm gonna heal you now,” says Lady Danae. I can sense her power swelling up from her. “Stay still.” It's not that I'll thrash around without reason. She begins wrapping me with water. It feels soothing like a hug. The itching wounds and bruises on my body are gone with the steam. Once she's done, she makes the water disappear. “Mila asked me to check on you,” she said. “You didn't have these injuries when I gave you to them. They might've hurt you while I'm out. Can you tell me who did this to you? The guards don't seem to know.” They did it while I was sleeping, I guess. That's why I don't know. If I know, I still won't answer because it'll spark more trouble for them. “Please talk to me, Leo. Mila wants you to know that she's fine and also, she wants to know if you're fine.” I ‘am’ fine. Actually, better, since I learned how to let things go. Just go, my lady. Don't worry about me and worry about everybody else. I might be the one who hurt her so you must be holding a little anger at me inside of you. It's okay, I don't care. “Leo?” she asks with a tone that's ready to give up talking to me. “Alright, I'll just go and talk to you for some other time. I want to get you out of those uncomfortable chains but I still haven't had the permission. Just wait, Leo. We'll help you.” It's even okay if you don't, my lady. It's not like this would kill me. If it will, then I'll let it be. I will hold no grudge. - * “I'll take my leave now, Lady Xue,” says Hilde, bowing down. She stands straight and adds, “No doubt that this fortress is in good hands.” “Thank you for your trust, Lady Hilde,” Xue bows back. “And would you be kind to tell my nephew that I'll be taking over his position when I get back?” “As the House Leader?” Xue nods. “I'll tell him, my lady.” Hilde nods before turning to walk to the starting jet fighter plane. There are other planes too, right of them in total including hers. Her men already boarded their planes and they wait for her to lead them. She goes inside then the hatch closes. She is in the gunner's seat. A man is in the pilot's seat, serving to fly for her. Putting on her helmet, she sees holograms just as the plane hovers up to a higher altitude. Xue from below watches them until they cruise into supersonic speeds. Leaning back, Hilde frowns thinking about everything that troubles her. A lot of them, actually. She just rests her head on her palm with her elbow on the side of the cockpit. They have 11,000 kilometers to travel back to Asgard and she has to wait three hours or so. This gives her time to think of solutions for the problems she is trying to fix. But then what to fix first is the problem. She could not make sense of what is the most important. In her mind, she wonders about what is happening on Venus and Mars but mostly on where is Dragunov. Although she knows he is the culprit of this whole disaster, she is still not satisfied. Her guts are trying to tell her something and her mind works to find out why. When they start to fly over a continent, red lights blink inside the cockpit with the sound of annoying beeps. “What's happening?” she asks. “Missiles!” cries the pilot. “Activating countermeasures!” she yells. Flares come out of the aircraft's wings. Two missiles miss them. The other aircraft did the same and all of them avoided being blown up. They begin to spread out to give each other room to take evasive maneuvers. Hundreds of surface-to-air missiles coming to destroy them. The jet engines roar some more as they use their afterburners. Blue fire comes out of them, making them look like comets in the sky. They hope to outrun the missiles but that only worked for most of them. Other missiles are flying more than the fighter planes can do. “We've run out of flares!” shouts Hilde. “Resorting to advance full-evasive maneuver, my lady!” Taking sharp turns at this speed is making the aircraft grumble. Like its wings will break. It still holds on. They go up to a higher altitude in the hope of spending the propellant of the pursuing missiles. Through the clouds, they go up until everything is much peaceful here. The sun is so bright and the clouds below are like a gentle sea. Large missiles follow them because they have more propellant than others. Other fighters aid others by shooting at the missiles. They are successful in fending them off. Like lightning, they explode in the sky, leaving trails of smoke and fireballs. Something bothers Hilde although her men start to celebrate their success. She looks at the sky as sees a flash of light. The aircraft explodes while she and the pilot are inside it. “Argh!!” she grunts in pain. Her arms are barely burnt. The pilot was a human so he did not survive. She looks around while falling. All of the aircrafts are destroyed, three demigods survived like her. “They have access to Project Sunstrike?!!” she rages. There is nothing to stop her from falling. After she goes under the clouds, millions of bullets converge in her direction. All she could do is block her face and deflect the bullets with her Sword Breaking. The bullets explode and she feels pain every time one of them hits her. Hundreds of bullets hit her but she is holding on until she comes crashing on the ground. She lands on her two feet with her eyes glowing red. The other three demigods did not survive the hellfire. Once again, her subordinates die except her. She is sick of it. Boosting her senses, she knows dozens of vehicles are coming to finish her. Pulling her axe from her back, dozens of missiles gather around her. A single wave of her hand deflects them all. After that, is a wave of demigods coming to kill her. They are persistent although she is handling them like they are nothing. One swing of her axe is enough to kill each of them. She killed at least dozens of them before the others retreated. “We're not finished yet!” she screams, making her eyes glow bright red. “Get back here!” Suddenly, the demigods feel no cowardice but just malice to kill her. She finishes five of them in one swing and bathes in their blood. It is not over though, as humans who stayed back are now retreating. How badly she wants to kill all of them. Their vehicles explode and broken in half because of her axe. It flies like it has its own mind while she goes in the opposite direction to send a large shockwave, destroying a dozen of them. There is none of them left. Then a group started to reveal themselves from the covers of the snow. A smirk is blazing from the distance. Its wielder chuckles, saying, “What a smooth flight you had, Hilde.” Panting and wiping the blood from her lips, she growls, “Now, you've done it… Narada!” * -
