I couldn’t sleep. The bed was comfortable, the room more extravagant than anything I had slept in before, and yet, I just tossed and turned, that last conversation playing in my head over and over again. I considered getting up and looking through those books the conservatory had sent over. But the exhaustion was still overwhelming, and I knew I wasn’t going to be able to retain anything that I learned from them. No matter how many times I reread the words. So, I lay there, in the bed, and without even thinking about it, my mind sought out a dream and I found myself in it. It was burning. The village below me was burning.
