It was early in the morning, the sun just peeking up over the horizon, when a knock sounded on my door. I blinked my tired eyes, staring at it, not processing that I needed to answer to door for far too long. I didn’t remember I was wearing borrowed nightclothes when I answered the door, pulling it open. The Ashfather stood there, his eyes widening when he saw me. His gaze swept over my thinly clad body, then he seemed to realize what he was doing and jerked his eyes up to the sky, making sure he wasn’t looking at me at all. It was already too late, though.
