Whenever I write a book, there is always a ton of world building that ends up on the ‘virtual cutting-room floor’ of my imagination. In this section, I’ll give a quick tour of the edits that hurt the most in ARCHENEMY.
Originally, Xavier started off fighting gladiator-style in the real Roman Coliseum…. because what’s a story in ancient times without gladiators? Also, these battles could be a nice parallel to what happens in the Angelbound Origins series.
Sadly, that grew into a gladiator book which battled hard with my ancient Egypt story. Basically, adding in all that gladiator stuff kept me from digging deeper into other world-building.
