Since Aurelian’s magic is off the charts, his love for Merit causes her to contract khrysonia, a deadly disease that only affects true love partners that are archangel and human. The picture on the next page shows Merit with a khrysonia mark on her shoulder.
It’s a cool photo, but I ended up being able to cover the same thing with Camilla without adding in the extra storyline.
