Prologue
"Ouch! F**k this!" I screamed when I touched the pan as I was cooking my lunch at the apartment. Instead of treating myself with the restaurant food because I got a new job, here I am celebrating my small success at my small apartment I called 'home'. I received an email at 8 in the morning, saying I got accepted as a model for a clothing brand I applied to. Well, it's not really my main goal, to be a model? I always wanted to be an author, a writer, because I wanted to write my own story. My tragedy. But, it takes time and effort and money to publish a book. I want to save first. I'm just 20. I've never been to college so, it's not easy to convince a publishing company to make my story into public. I have to make a lot of achievements first, make my name famous, my face recognizable, and my status higher.
(Phone Ringing) "Hi Jenna...Yeah...mhmm...Thanks by the way...Yeah, see you at the office tomorrow". Well, that was Jenna, she introduced me to that company because she works there as well. We are not really best friends, but she's nice to me. We met at high school, at Mother Louisa Academy. We were on the same club together, 'The Book Lover's Club', sounds cheesy, I know. She just sees that I have potential as a model. She always says that I am pretty and, who knows, I might be discovered and be one of the biggest celebrities. I'm kinda grateful that I know someone who saw a future in me that I couldn't see for myself.
I finished my lunch and I look at my planner to see the schedule that I made for today. It was written 'sunset'. Funny, the day I got my first job was the anniversary of the saddest and devasting event that happened in my life. The tragedy that I am trying to forget, but can't. Suddenly, it was five years ago.
