Roma slowly over her eyes and saw whites lights, before closing them again. “Am I dead?” she asked herself as she tried to move but her body wasn’t responding. She tried to open her eyes and managed to open them to slits as she gradually got used to the light. She kept hearing a beeping sound. Roma tried looking to where the beeping was coming from.
“Mum, can you hear me?” Grant asked as he sat beside his mother’s hospital bed. He gripped her hand as he looked at her face. He collapsed when he saw that his mother’s face was swollen and bloated from the beating and the drugs that the doctor’s pumped her body with, to save her life. Grant wiped the tears with the back of his hands. “Mum, you need to come back as we can’t be without you, we love you.”
