Days passed, but the brief encounter in the library stayed in Aarushi’s mind—much to her annoyance. She had no interest in arrogant, rich boys who thought the world revolved around them.
However, fate had other plans.
It started with small things. Whenever she entered the library, Vivaan would already be there, sitting at a table, casually flipping through a book as if waiting for something—or someone.
During lunch breaks, she noticed him at the café more often. Sometimes he would glance at her and smirk, as if daring her to react.
One afternoon, Meera excitedly rushed into their dorm room.
Meera (grinning): “Aarushi, you won’t believe this!”
Aarushi (looking up from her book): “What happened?”
Meera: “Vivaan Mehra was asking about you!”
Aarushi frowned. “What do you mean ‘asking about me’?”
Meera (giggling): “I mean, he literally asked Karan—his best friend—who you were. He wanted to know your name, your department, everything!”
Aarushi shook her head. “Why would he care?”
Meera (dramatically): “Because he’s interested in you, obviously!”
Aarushi scoffed. “Rich boys don’t ‘get interested’ in girls like me, Meera. They just get bored and look for distractions.”
Despite her words, the next few days proved that Vivaan wasn’t giving up easily.

The Confrontation
One evening, Aarushi was heading toward the literature hall when a voice called out behind her.
Vivaan: “Hey, bookworm!”
She turned around, her brows furrowing. “Excuse me?”
Vivaan smirked as he walked closer. “I figured I should at least know the name of the girl who keeps ignoring me.”
Aarushi crossed her arms. “Who said I was ignoring you?”
Vivaan chuckled. “Oh, come on. You act like you don’t care, but I see the way you avoid looking at me.”
She rolled her eyes. “Maybe because I actually don’t care?”
Vivaan leaned slightly closer, his voice lower. “I don’t believe that.”
Aarushi stepped back. “You’re wasting your time, Vivaan.”
Vivaan tilted his head, observing her. “We’ll see.”
She turned around and walked away, but she could feel his gaze on her.
Meera (later that night): “Girl, you have no idea what you’ve just started.”
Aarushi sighed. She wished Vivaan would lose interest. But deep down, a part of her wondered—why was he so persistent?
Little did she know, this was just the beginning of something neither of them could control.
