Aarushi barely made it to her hostel room before the tears came.
She curled up on her bed, clutching her pillow as sobs racked her body. Saying those words to Vivaan—walking away from him—had been the hardest thing she had ever done.
Meera sat beside her, rubbing her back gently.
Meera (softly): “You really love him, don’t you?”
Aarushi wiped her tears. “That’s why I had to leave. His parents will never accept me, Meera. And I can’t be the reason he loses his family.”
Meera sighed. “But what about you? What about what you want?”
Aarushi didn’t answer. Because what she wanted didn’t matter anymore.

Vivaan’s Struggle
Vivaan, on the other hand, was not doing well.
He hadn’t gone home that night. Instead, he drove aimlessly around the city, replaying Aarushi’s words over and over again.
When he finally returned to the Mehra mansion, his father was waiting.
Mr. Mehra (coldly): “So, has reality finally sunk in?”
Vivaan clenched his jaw. “You don’t get to decide who I love.”
Mr. Mehra: “You’re young, Vivaan. You don’t understand the consequences of your choices.”
Vivaan (angry): “The only consequence I care about is losing Aarushi.”
His father sighed. “You’ll get over it.”
Vivaan let out a bitter laugh. “No, Dad. You don’t get it. I love her. And you have no idea what that even means.”
With that, he stormed out, determined to find a way to fix what was broken.

Aarushi’s Decision
Days passed, but Aarushi didn’t hear from Vivaan. She tried to focus on her studies, but everything reminded her of him—the library where they first argued, the café where he had made her smile, the late-night drives where he had held her hand like she was the only thing that mattered.
One evening, Meera threw a newspaper in front of her.
Meera: “Look at this.”
Aarushi picked it up, confused. Her breath caught when she saw the headline.
“Vivaan Mehra Engaged to Naina Malhotra—The Perfect Business Merger”
Her world stopped.
Aarushi (whispering): “No… this can’t be real.”
Meera hesitated. “Maybe it’s just a rumor. You know how rich families work.”
But the photo said otherwise.
Vivaan stood beside Naina—a stunning socialite from a wealthy family. And though his expression was unreadable, the truth was staring Aarushi in the face.
Vivaan was moving on.
Or worse… maybe he never really fought for them at all.
