Darrick's POV -
Right now, I am sitting here in my office room doing some paper work but she is just glued to my mind. no matter how much I want to forget her but at the end, she is the only one in my mind. I just don't know what's happening to me but I really like her. I know it's wrong. it's against the rules of nature. she's a werewolf and I am a vampire. we're bound to be enemies but still my heart attracted towards her. I want her to be with me always. I can't see her in any pain. I just want her to smile always. I hate it when she ignores me like I am nothing to her. I am a changed person. I still remember that I used to run away even from the smell of werewolves but her smell just drives me crazy. her scent calms me down on one hand but on other hand, it wakes up the beast inside me. she's just so innocent, carefree and full of life. whenever she's around me, I felt peace in my heart. those were the only moments in which I truly lived and enjoyed my life. never in my life, I went so close to any girl. I took her to my favorite spot in the forest but when she told me that she found her mate already, I swear, I feel like someone pierced a wooden stake right into my heart. the guy who got her as his mate, must be very lucky. she's just amazing. she's a werewolf and she has a werewolf mate. so, why I am so bothered about it?
I fisted my hand and punched the big mahogany table splitting it into two parts. the papers scattered all around the room.
why am I so angry? it's not like she was my girlfriend neither I am her lover but it hurts to think about her being with someone else.
I ran out of room into the woods with my vampire speed. I need to clear my mind. I can't develop feelings for her.
Devils don't deserve angels and I am a devil.
Lily's POV -
I don't know what happened but after coming back from the forest, Darrick was ignoring me continuously.
did I say something wrong or did I do something wrong?
I tried to talk to him but he just ignored me like I wasn't there. In the library too, he didn't even look at me.
he was all good a while ago, then what happened to him? - I asked Ash lying in my bed.
how would I know? - she replied innocently.
uggh..... this guy will make me go crazy, for sure.
I think, you should sleep now and in the morning, we will ask him that what's his problem. - she advised me.
yeah, you are right. I won't get anything stressing my brain unnecessarily. - I said closing my eyes but again, his handsome face and his cold behavior started haunting me.
uggh..... can't I get some sleep?
I took a pillow and glared at it.
Darrick von stein, how dare you ignore me? - I shouted and punched the pillow hard sitting on it.
you bloodsucker, good for nothing creature, arrogant, rude, cold demon, I swear, one day I will kill you with my bare hands. - I shouted in my high pitch voice and hold the pillow with my hands thinking of it as Darrick's neck.
I punched the pillow hard and hard and cursed that bloodsucker a thousand times. when there was no bad words left in my dictionary, I finally stopped and saw the pillow which was completely ripped

In the morning -
I reached school on time today. wow, Isn't it a good thing?
I sat on my seat and saw Darrick already sitting there with some book in his hand.
hey. - I called him but he pretend like he didn't heard it. he didn't even look at me.
good morning, Mr. Von stein. - I wished him in my extra sweet voice.
but again no reaction from him.
Darrick, what's wrong, huh? - I asked him again but still he pretend like my voice didn't even reach to his ears.
now, I am having a hard time to control my anger. he's just ignoring me and not telling me the reason behind it.
a few days ago, you too did the same. - Ash commented inside my mind.
she's right. if he's a devil then, I am not a saint either. may be I should give him sometime and he will be okay. uggh..... I just don't know what to do?
suddenly the bell rag indicating that class is going to start. I took out my books and notes from my bag. soon enough, Mr. Patrick entered into the class.
Oh, Miss Smith. you're on time today. what a pleasant surprise! - Mr. Patrick commented as soon as his gaze fell on me but I wasn't in the mood to argue this old man. so, I just kept mum.
I think, he observed it that I an not in mood to have a argument with him. so, he didn't say anything after that to which I am really thankful for.
the lecture started and Darrick's full focus was on the board and Mr. Patrick and I can't concentrate, not even for a minute. it's so bad. isn't it?
I was just tapping my fingers on the table lightly so that he could at least shout at me to not to disturb him but he didn't said a word, he seems completely unaffected.
This man, I swear.....
suddenly an idea popped into my mind. I took a note and wrote -
hey, what happened? why are you ignoring? if I said something wrong, then, I am extremely sorry.
I kept it in my notebook and slide it towards him hoping that he will open it and saw the note but nothing happened. he didn't even look at the notebook.
soon enough the lecture got over and everyone went out of the classroom. he just collected his books hurriedly and ran outside the classroom. I too ran behind him but it was hard to catch him. so, I gave control to Ash and used a little of my werewolf speed, just to catch him.
I ran behind him and soon blocked his way standing opposite to him. I took the control back from Ash.
what the hell is wrong with you? - I asked him crossing my arms. I am really angry at him.
nothing. - saying so, he pushed me to the side and started walking but I hold his arm
why are you ignoring me? - I asked as soon as he turned around.
he removed my hand from his arm and started walking again.
I asked something. - I stopped him again holding his arm more tightly.
he yanked back his hand and shouted at me in front of everyone -
why are you disturbing me? just please leave me alone. can't you get this single thing in that fat brain of yours? - he shouted pointing a finger at my brain.
I have had enough. please stop following me. - he shouted again and left from there.
everyone is looking at me. some with sympathy, others with disgust.
so, now I am disturbing him. then, what was all that yesterday? why the hell he came closer to me in the first place, when he despise me so much?
tears are threatening to fall down from my eyes but I have decide that I won't cry. I won't waste my tears. at least not for him. I was determined but the traitor tears escaped my eyes running down my cheeks.
I ran out of there. I entered inside the girl's washroom and saw myself in the mirror.
This is not the princess Liliana. the girl in the mirror can't be the princess of werewolf kingdom. she's a weak pathetic person who is crying over losing someone who doesn't even belong to her.
I wiped my tears and cleaned my face.
I don't need a mate. I am strong enough to fight alone. I am not going to cry for him. never ever. - I said to myself looking at my reflection in the mirror.
that's like my lily - bily. don't fall weak, don't let your crown fall in someone's feet who wasn't worthy enough for it. I am with you lily. we will cope up with it. I will always be there with you no matter what. you're my princess and you will always be. - I smiled at Ash's words.
in between both of us, Ash was a little sentimental and I am the one who comfort her and motivate her but it seems like roles are exchanged. I am behaving like Ash and Ash is behaving like me. funny. isn't it?
the rest of the day passed in blur. I didn't saw him in cafeteria and in library, he ignore me like I wasn't even there and I too didn't try to talk to him 'cause I don't want to get insulted again, that too, in front of everyone.
In the Mr. smith's office -
Mr. smith - did you find out who were those wolves who attacked Lily that day?
Erick - No Alpha. we couldn't find them but I have some information about them.
Mr. Smith - hmmm. tell me whatever you find out.
Erick - Actually, Alpha. those weren't the normal rogues. they were the very dangerous werewolves. those wolves who were killed by princess, I sent their dead bodies to the pack hospital and ordered the best doctor to check their bodies thoroughly. you won't believe it but their blood become black in color once they died. we also found out that their eyes were turned into black color completely and all these things indicate that they weren't the normal werewolves. they were..........
Mr. smith - ......dark werewolves. - Mr. smith completed Erick's sentence.
Erick - yes, you're right, my king.
Mr. smith - I can't even protect my own daughter. how will I protect the whole kingdom?
Erick - you tried your best, Alpha. you're one of the best king in the history of werewolves. we have to be more careful because they know now about the princess being a white wolf. they will do everything to get her. we have to be prepared. we need to increase the border security, too.
Mr. Smith - hmm. you're right, Erick. we need to think of a solution before problem started knocking at our doors. do one thing, increase the time of training session. take lily's extra session. teach her how to fight alone. make her stronger and more powerful. Increase the number of guards at pack borders. select best of our pack warriors and train them specially to fight dark werewolves. keep a sharp eye on the whole kingdom. don't let leak this news of princess being attacked by dark werewolves. I don't want peoples to be afraid. when the right time come, I will tell them myself.
Erick - yes Alpha. everything will be done as per as your orders.
Mr. Smith - one more thing, I want all the files related to our best pack warriors on my table by the morning.
Erick - Yes Alpha. anything else? - he asked bowing down a little.
Mr. smith - No. you can go now. - he said dismissing him and Erick left from there leaving Mr. smith all worried and tensed.
two days later.
in the evening -
Lily's POV -
Darrick was ignoring me continuously. he don't even look at me once. I too didn't talk to him.
so, I just returned from my evening training session. yes, I am working very hard to be the future queen of this kingdom. it's my responsibility.
I just took a shower and laid in my bed. I am very tired today. double training session are not the easy tasks.
Princess. - suddenly someone called me knocking on the door of my room.
yes. - I answered getting up and went to open the door. there standing a female servant.
Alpha is calling you, princess. he's waiting for you in his office. - she said bowing down a little.
okay. I am going. - I said dismissing him and closed the door behind me.
why daddy called me at this time, that too in his office?
I went to his office and knocked on his office door three times.
come in, princess. - Dad's voice came from the other side.
I slowly pushed the door and entered inside his office.
I bowed down my head in respect and asked -
you called me, Alpha?
yes princess. meet him. - he said indicating towards the boy around my age.
I looked at him. he's quite handsome, I must say. he has black colored hairs with light brown eyes. his nose is straight and perfect. his lips are little too thick but overall, he is handsome. he have a quite muscular body with visible triceps and his eight pack abs which screams how much time he spent on his body.
he is Jack Wilson. one of our best pack warrior and your bodyguard. - Dad finally dropped the bomb.
what? A bodyguard? hell no!
