Raven looked around nervously as she settled down beside Demetrio. He had taken a few of them into his larger study to discuss plans further. It was not something he would usually do, but she suspected he was unwilling to be separated from her when he was probably still vulnerable from his friend’s loss. That was not the reason she was so nervous, however. No, that reason was currently studying her from his seat across from them. She was trying to gauge his motivation, but she sensed no malice behind the stare. It was more like he was trying to figure out a different species with the help of a magnifying glass. Moreover, he was being so blatant there was no way Demetrio could be clueless as to what was going on, and yet he did not seem inclined to do so.
