I Solemnly Vow

Aurora’s POV

Here I am, standing in my dressing room as the stylist is curling my hair into waves like the ocean while Hayley does my makeup. She was having quite the time trying to cover up my puffy eyes from all of the tears that had fallen. I was originally planning on not wearing any makeup but the cards fell where they may with Drew so I needed to cover their redness. Hayley was waiting for me at the steps of the pack house after Troy walked me back from the meadow, she didn’t say a word she just wrapped me tight in a hug.

“Whatever they did, they suck.” She whispered in my ear causing me to laugh a little. Troy nuzzled his head against me before taking off.

“Rory, are you ready to put on the dress honey?” Magan asked as she walked out to get us.

I nodded, for some reason I was so nervous. I was worried about letting my mom down like I wouldn’t live up to the expectations she had for the dress. Magan placed the blindfold over my eyes as she and Hayley helped me into the gown. I took a deep breath, “are you ready, Ror?”

“Yes”

As she took the blind fold off and I saw myself for the first time I was truly in awe of this dress. The gold shimmered in every light, the sheath style hugging me perfectly from my breast down to my waist as the moon shaped jewels fell from the waist line in a swirl pattern all the way down the dress, the train fell nearly three feet behind me. It was breathtaking, it took everything in me not to cry in this moment.

“She’s with me.” I spoke so quietly I doubt anyone could hear me. Looking in this mirror I didn’t feel like Aurora Mae Agan, orphan girl with a murderous father. No, I am Aurora Mae Conner Luna of Mount Fern Pack from now until the end of my days.

“You look beautiful honey.” Magan said

“Girrrllllll if I had some dollar bills mmm mmm mmm.” Hayley’s comment making everyone laugh.

“Do you think Jett will like it?” I ask, a blush spreading across my face just thinking of him.

“He will LOVE it!” Magan said with so much confidence I could feel it all around me. I am ready to see my mate. Hayley helped me in my gold flats, as she did I felt a mindlink. Its Faith.

“He’s coming for you. Be careful.”

“Rory, are you okay?” Magan said with concern all over her face as I snapped back.

“Yes just got a little dizzy.” I lied hoping she didn’t see my eyes glaze over. She smiled and hugged me, she believed it. I didn’t want them to worry and quite frankly I didn’t want to either. This is my night and no one will take that away from me.

Jett’s POV

I am waiting at the alter speaking with the Elder about how we want our ceremony to go. Our luna and alpha ceremony parts will be tradition but Rory had the great idea to write our own vows, she wanted something that was entirely our own since a lot of the ceremony had to be to traditional standards. We had two Elders here, one to perform our mate ceremony then he and the other will perform our luna and alpha ceremonies simultaneously. We also had a trusted human minister here to witness our ceremony as a wedding as well.

I am slightly nervous, scratch that extremely nervous to see her. We’ve both been so busy since we mated and marked one another that it’s been difficult to find time for each other. In the grand scheme I guess it’s a good thing seeing as we’re not supposed to mate again as humans until our wolves get to mate during the run. Sometimes being alpha sucked, I would tear her clothes off anytime I saw her but these stupid rules and traditions kept us from it.

“Son, you alright?” My dad whispered as everyone started to sit.

“Yeah dad, just so ready to be with her.”

“Okay well I’m going to go to her and we’ll get this show on the road.”

Rory had watched one too many movies of dad’s walking their daughters down the aisle so here we are going to use the most mundane tradition in our ceremony.

As he walked away, the reality of everything she and I had been through together set in. Her loss and terror, our bond and trust in one another, my love for her before she even knew it, our separation and coming back together, her hurt and pain, our love together. She and I have already been through so much and it’s all because of the Moon Goddess that we got to go through it by each other’s sides. I listened to her babble for hours about her first kiss while she heard the embarrassment of my first time, we know each other better than anyone else. With this realization all of my nerves fell away, now it was just love and adoration for the woman that was about to become my lifelong mate, luna and wife.

The doors to the pack house swung open slowly and there was my beautiful Aurora. Her entire body covered in gold with jewels of the moon all over the skirt of the dress, hair done perfectly and freely as the ocean waves would be, those hazel eyes seeing right through me as she walked towards me. She is stunning and I couldn’t believe this was the moment that I had been waiting for my whole life. This is the woman I’ve waited for.

Drew’s POV

I stood by Jett as one of his groomsmen when the doors were opened. “Jenna.” I muttered under my breath. Rory looked just like her mom and it was shaking my very existence. I remember she and I picking that dress out while we were together, she didn’t want the traditional pack colors of Chesapeake. “I want to stand out,” were the exact words she spoke as she took the dress off the rack.

In this moment I could feel Jenna with us in this room. She was right here holding my hand watching our baby girl get mated and become luna to this pack. I had never felt anything so intense in this moment than the love I have for Rory and my Jenna.

Aurora’s POV

I have eyes for no one but Jett in this moment. I don’t think he even realizes he’s crying, but it is the sweetest moment and memory I will cherish of this day. Dom and I stand in front of the altar just mere steps from Jett, who I am just staring at when suddenly Elder Joseph breaks my adoring gaze.

“Who gives this wolf to her mate?”

“I, as her Alpha and adopted father.”

“Please take her hands Alpha son.”

Jett took my hands so gently but it made the fireworks I was feeling explode at his single touch.

“Alpha son, please speak your vows.”

Oh goddess I can already feel the tears coming.

“Aurora Mae, today I take the greatest pleasure in claiming you as my mate and my wife. The world we have experienced together has been life changing, from loss to love, tragedy to triumph we have been through and seen so much. You started out giving me a new perspective of life, then you became my life and I can never thank the Moon Goddess enough for this love she’s given me. I love you with a passion that is all consuming, a joy that is never ending, a love that I never knew was possible before I got Troy. He and I solemnly vow to protect, love, support, push and guide Harmony and yourself through every trial, hardship, smile and change that will come our way. You are my life, Rory. Let’s start our forever.”

The tears of pure joy and admiration I had for this man just flowed through every inch of my body. It was taking everything inside of me not to kiss him, whenever Elder Joseph started speaking to me, “Aurora Mae Agan, please speak your vows.”

“That’s gonna be a tough one to follow but here goes nothing. Jettson Alexander, yes using your whole first name is necessary, because in this moment we are accepting all of each other. Every right and wrong we’ve both ever committed is being fully accepted in this perfect moment. You have seen me for all that I am, from a mute four year old orphan overwhelmed with grief to the person that I am today you have been there every step of the way. You were the first person to hold my hand, the first person to keep my secrets, the first person to show me the beauty in pain, you have been a first in every aspect of my life and now you will be the first for the rest of my life. You are the one who has always made me feel joy and love and as that is I solemnly vow to make you feel loved every second of every day, to protect you from the demons in this world and inside your mind, to fill you with peace and happiness through the dark and sadness of this world. I am yours and you are mine for the rest of our lives, Jett. I love you. ”

Looking up from his eyes and around the room there was not a dry eye in the house, especially our parents.

“With their vows said, I ask now of you both. Do you take Aurora, Jettson, to be your lawfully wedded mate and wife as long as you both shall live?”

“I do.”

“Do you take Jettson, Aurora, to be your lawfully wedded mate and husband as long as you both shall live?”

“I do.”

“Now that we have completed your mating ceremony, Elder Elijah will join me as he performs Aurora’s Luna Ceremony and I Jettson’s Alpha Ceremony. First we ask Alpha Dominic to stand by his son and renounce his title.”

I watched as Dom came up the steps towards his son, the look in his eyes full of pride and honor. In this moment I was his daughter and him my father, he looks so full of joy and I could never be so thankful that he and Magan chose to take me in.

“Alpha, please renounce and claim your titles.”

“I, Dominic Shane Conner, renounce my title as Alpha of Mount Fern Pack and accept the title of Senior Alpha of Mount Fern Pack.”

The severed connection from him as Alpha was a heartache for every member of our pack, but it was one that will be filled with Jett as our new Alpha.

“Jettson, please step forward and claim your title.”

“I, Jettson Alexander Conner, claim and accept the title as Alpha of Mount Fern Pack. I vow to protect, honor, love and devote myself fully to Mount Fern Pack and each of the 3,008 members that reside within its borders.” Just like that the hole in our hearts was filled again as our new Alpha took his place.

“Aurora, please step forward and claim your title.”

“I, Aurora Mae Conner, claim and accept the title as Luna of Mount Fern Pack. I vow to protect, care for, honor, provide, love and devote myself fully to Mount Fern Pack and each of the 3,008 member that reside within its borders.” I could each of our hearts beat in unison within the pack borders. I am bonded to every single member now and will be fully bonded when Magan steps down completely as Luna. She felt I needed a little training as a luna before I took the role on completely and she had no idea how much I appreciated. I have a lot to learn but in this moment I couldn’t be happier.

“Alpha, Luna you may seal this bond with your kiss, shift and run.”

Jett swooped me into his arms right off my feet holding me bridal style as I wrapped my arms around his neck we kissed each other so deep and passionately. He took off running with me to our spot in the daffodil meadow, “why did we come here?”

“Because I want your mom to be with us the first time we shift together.”

I gave him another kiss as he started to set me on my feet. I looked to my mother’s tombstone wishing she was here for this. We quickly but carefully undressed and shifted. Our wolves instantly nuzzling and rubbing all over each other. We are completely one now.
