Chapter 2: The Who?

The next day...

"What happened to her? Look at her damn eye bags

"

"I don't know. She's been like that after we bought beers and chips last night"

Diana and Trevor observes their out-of-character friend, who's staring out of nowhere with visible under circles in her eyes.

"Wake her up. The boss is waiting for her report." Diana orders Trevor.

"I don't want to! What if she punches me?"

"You want me to punch you, instead?" Diana threatens.

Trevor was hesitant but tried anyways. He has no choice but to wake her up from her bubble.

"Don't get mad, please. i just need to do this" He muttered as he went near Eli and attempts to poke her shoulders.

But before he could do it, the girl suddenly bangs her head in her desk, startling everyone in the room.

"UGH!"

She continuously banged her head on her work desk, trying to forget everything that happened last night. But every time she does it, "that" event suddenly pops out like a freaking mushroom and she hates it to the very core.

"Forget that damn thing!" She continuously mumbles to herself.

Her team mates were weirded out at the same time worried for their team head since she wasn't even like this before. Even she's stressed out, she still shows a positive aura so everyone wouldn't be down even in stressful situations. They wonder what made her like this.

Diana, being a good friend than the other, went to Eli and stopped her from banging her head.

"Do you want to c***k your skull open? I'll purposely do it for you."

Eli perked her head up and glared at her friend but the latter wasn't even affected by it.

"Shut up. Go away." She said monotonously.

Before a war happens, Trevor pulled Diana away from Eli.

"See? That's why I don't wanna approach her"

"So you wanna see her brain oozing out of his sku—" Diana wasn't able to finish her words when Trevor shut her up with his hand.

"Don't say it out loud! It's disgusting." Trevor grimaces while imagining the scenario in his head.

"Did you just put your dirty hands on my mouth?" And here comes the real monster, ready to c***k a skull open right now.

Trevor gulped hard, attempting to tame the now pissed woman.

"I-I washed my hands 20 times today! If y-you want I'll wash it again" Trevor chuckled, nervously.

Diana laughed with him but sarcastically. She gave him her sweetest smile, which made Trevor almost pee on his pants.

"We'll see later after work. Come on, we have some work to do. Goodbye Eli, suit yourself" Diana said and bid goodbye to their weird friend.

Trevor didn't have the chance to talk because gun held his wrist tightly. He really regretted talking back to her.

After the two left, the stressed-out main character heaved a sigh. She hated herself for acting like a dumb high school kid. Why can't she act like the usual? Why is she stressing out so much with just a freaking kiss?!

She kept reminding herself that it's just a kiss, nothing else.

But holy mother of bunnies, IT WAS HER FIRST KISS.

Big deal? A BIG FORKING DEAL.

Why does it have to be her? Why did that mf stranger suddenly do it? Most of all, why is she so stressed out about this?!

'WAKE YOUR ASS UP, ELISIANA TAN. IT'S NOT A BIG PROBLEM. FORGET ABOUT IT, IT'S PROBABLY JUST A DREAM'

She shook her head to finally wake herself up. She still has a job to do, she must not be slacking off like this. She's the head for heaven's sake.

She took a deep breath and sat up straight.

"Work, work, work, Eli!"

She fixed her hair and blazer to look more presentable. She checked himself on her phone through her reflection and she almost dropped it. There, the result of having a sleepless night. She looks so bad, a scary panda.

"Tsk. I look awful..." She worriedly caress her face.

No. It doesn't matter now, she has a deadline today and she wants to smack herself for almost forgetting about it. She hurriedly opened the document file and finishes her report.

An hour has passed, Eli finally finished her work. She stretched her arms and cracked her neck. She felt relieved once she typed the last words in her daily report. She'll just send this to their boss then she's off to go and manage the event.

She was supposed to be at the hall in the morning because she's tasked with the arrangement of the program flow but her boss suddenly made him pass a quick report.

Well, it's a bit good that she had time to fix herself because she's sure that she'll mess up big time once she went there earlier. Plus, she trusts his team that they'll do a great job there.

After passing the report to their boss' secretary, she packed her stuff and went straight to the venue. When he got there, one of his teammates hesitantly approached him.

Eli was confused as to why he seems scared of him so he asked if he was okay.

"Are you okay? Is there something wrong?"

The guy shook his head and forced a smile.

"N-no! uh... I was just thinking if you're okay now, Ms. Eli."

Oh that's why, she thought.

She can't blame them, she really looked like a monster earlier.

"I'm sorry about that. I'm okay now! i just lack sleep."

"O-oh okay. Uhm... everything's all set. they also arranged the program flow, you can check it for yourself." The employee reported.

"Good job, thank you! Now, go rest because we have a long night later." Eli said with a reassuring smile.

"Thank you, Ms. Eli!"

Eli greeted the people inside the venue and checked all the things that are needed to be arranged. Even the smallest details, she had to make sure that everything will be perfect for tonight's deal. She can't disappoint her boss' and her team with this. They gave her a big opportunity and a responsibility so she has to be meticulous with everything.

"Nice job, everyone! we can now all prepare for the event later. Let's do our very best to make this night a success!"

She hopes that the heavens grant his wish of making the night go according to her plan.

Later at the welcoming party...

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to tonight's event."

The night was lively, a lot of business people were present at the party. Who would miss this big event? With a lot of possible business partnerships, they would definitely grab their chance to shine. Of course, those business men's wives wouldn't let themselves lose their shine. They wore their best gowns, having diamonds all over their body.

Eli became uncomfortable in her place. Even though she made sure that everything's okay, she can't help but think of the possibilities. Out of too much nervousness, she drank the content of the glass in front of him. She doesn't even care what it is, all he wanted was to calm his ass and enjoy the night.

After a few presentations here and there, the much awaited announcement came by.

The new investors of their company.

Her boss always reminds her that they have to be grand in whatever they do just to please the new investors. He said that they are a big time company, having a lot of branches all over the world.

Just by thinking of it, Eli can't help but to gulp the drink. She's dead if something happened that will put their company in trouble. She hasn't saved enough money for her dream so she's not ready to be kicked out of the company.

She started to chug the glass again but it was now empty. he ran out of the drink, she clicked his tongue and stood up to get a drink.

As if she jinxed everything, a big trouble was coming his way.

A little naughty boy was playing around the venue, holding his soon-to-be-melted ice cream. He was so bored that he wanted to go home rather than staying in this party for the oldies. He was about to give up and throw a tantrum but a someone had caught his attention.

When he saw his target, a mischievous smirk appeared on his cute little face.

Eli was humming to a song while carrying his drink and a plate of sweets. Her doctor advised her not to eat too much sweets but she can't help it, it looks so appetizing. And, it's just for today. It's not that bad to have a cheat day, right?

Not knowing what's about to come, Eli continued humming and politely greeting the guests. When she stepped her left foot forward, everything went slow.

A splash of ice cream was on the floor and Eli unfortunately slipped on it.

“Holy cheesecake!”

She tried balancing himself but too late, she fell backward and accidentally landed on someone, smashing her cake on that someone's face.

Eli didn't know what to do because she was so shocked to what happened. She didn't dare to move as she saw that someone remove the smashed slice of cake on his face.

“What the hell?!”
