I should have seen the comment coming, I thought. I knew Killian would probably not appreciate hearing it, but he sounded much like Wylder. He actually reminded me a little of him, but I knew that would only infuriate Killian to hear.
However, I hadn’t changed my mind about leaving, and I had to depart before Wylder came looking for me, demanding my return.
“What if you drove me to work?” I proposed to Killian.
“What?” he responded.
“Yeah, then you can ensure I arrive there safely.”
What are you planning? Weren’t we going to escape and never see them again? If he drives us to work, then how will that happen?
