Something fell down on floor near Casper's feet and it gained his attention. He leaned immediately to pick it up and saw a purple coloured skirt of some lady. As he looked up at her for handing over her bag.
Her captivating elegance took Casper a few seconds to take his eyes off her. She had just entered the train and got a seat opposite to Casper. She was wearing a long pleated purple skirt with a white fitted blouse. Her golden brown hair tied in a messy bun, wearing high heels. She was pretty but her strong character and elegance were her main attraction.
Kate belonged to a middle class family but she knew very well how to present herself in an elegant way. She was an empowered and independent woman of modern world. She used to teach children in a school and was financially independent and used to write literature pursuing her passion in free time.
She was quite contented with life for her basic needs were being fulfilled and she could pursue her passion as well. Her life was limited from her home to her work place.
She sat at the seat opposite to Casper. While receiving her bag from him, she appreciated this small act of kindness of his by saying thankyou, thinking how kind is this rich man. But till now, she dared not to look at his face, she kept avoiding the eye contact, for she had the idea that the man sitting infront of her was extraordinarily handsome and her eyes may get stuck on him for a while. Furthermore, she was trying to act as if his attraction wasn't affecting her. While her heart knew how much it was being attracted. She was thinking in her mind, " I've just heard about such guys in stories but got to see today in real life. What's wrong with me? Why am I thinking about him? He has got everything. He will must have some girl in his life. It's impossible otherwise. I need to stop thinking about him. He can't be mine." and consoled herself by saying, "I'm an independent girl, I don't need him."
Casper was also trying to avoid eye contact to not make it more weird. Though, both of them were seeing each other secretly.
While things going on in Casper's mind were, " I haven't seen such elegance before in my life. How confident is she to travel all alone. But why is she not looking at me the way other girls do? Am I not looking handsome to her?"
And this awkward tension stayed between them for a few hours. Both wanted to talk too badly and know about each other but didn't know how to start. Both waiting for the other to start talking.
The sun set in and it started getting dark outside, lights of the towns outside started glimmering and the autumn air started to get more chill.
Kate took a shawl out of her luggage and comforted herself by stretching it around her waist and shoulders in an elegant way making her look more impressive.
And then tired of this awkward silence, she picked out a book and started turning the pages.
Casper looking at it, said in astonishment, " Jane Austen? "
Kate looked up with a joy and said yes.
Casper told her how many books of Jane Austen he had read and all about his reading hobby.
Kate was in wonder that this man wasn't Leaving any stone unturned to impress her.
Both of them found each other so similar in their literary interests that they started talking about it without any hesitation.
As the night was getting darker, people in the train started to doze off. Everything grew silent, while they both were talking joyfully siting beside the window showing sky full of stars outside.
A little after midnight, Kate started yawning and comforted herself to take a nap.
Casper couldn't take his eyes off her while she was sleeping. He was smiling looking at her and wondering how God had created her.
He kept looking at her as if he was storing every small detail of her facial features in his mind. She was looking a lot more beautiful and innocent like a child, a thick strand of hair was covering right half of her face, her shawl covering herself and her book was kept on her chest. Casper wished that this beautiful night never ends or he could take her to another world where no-one could intrude between them.
Meanwhile, Kate bent her legs a little more and curled herself up as she was feeling cold and the shawl had slid to a side.
Seeing this Casper got up and came nearer to her and set her shawl and put the book away. He slid his finger on the soft skin of her face slowly to move the hair strand behind her ear. He was so close to her that moment that he could hear her breathing. The heat of the moment woke her up and seeing him so much close to her, accelerated her breathing rate. Casper got more closer and held her arm with a strong grip squeezing the soft flesh of her arms in his hands and got more closer and touched the pulpy pink lips of her with his own.
Kate had completely handed herself over to him in that moment, while he sucked her juicy lips and they had a passionate french kiss.
Rays of sunlight from the window woke both of them up, it was noisy all around as people have woken up. It was like they had come back from the fantasy life to real life. And again a strange awkwardness surrounded them.
And train stopped at a station, Kate got up to look for her luggage. Casper kept looking at her with hopelessness, his eyes got watery, he tried to make him composed but a storm was going on inside him with a noise which was saying STOP HER,
But how could he? He couldn't dare to do so.
Kate was expecting him to say something but he didn't. Kate did the same, went away without even saying goodbye.
It was a silent and unexplained painful goodbye.
After she was gone, Casper felt as he had lost everything.
Love and joy knocked his door but he couldn't let it in.
Rest of the hours of his journey passed too hardly and he realized that the pearled hair pin of Kate was stuck in the button of his sleeve cuff. He kept it carefully in his wallet. On reaching his destination, he got busy in the business stuff for time being.
