Chapter Thirty Nine
6:40pm
I stared at the clock on the other side of the dining room as we finished having our meal. I was not even stuffed but I could not stomach most of my meal.
We had spent the whole day pretending that we had nothing major to do tomorrow. I did not want to tell myself that I am in the wrong just because I did not bring it Up. Alpha Kane was the one that decided he was going to have the ceremony I still knew nothing about, so it was his responsibility to bring it up.
So why was he so quiet about it? He took me out to eat at a restaurant after we left Charlotte's house, and that was the beginning of us forgetting what is at stake.
I had not forgotten, and I hoped he hadn't too, but why were we acting this way?
That counted as our first date, but I sat through it
