Fairest amongst them... What a joke. She wasn't the fairest amongst them but the cursed one amongst them. Morrigan has always been an outcast, shunned and ostracized by those around her due to a curse placed on her at birth. The townspeople hurl stones at her, noble mothers warn their sons to stay away from her, and even the lowest slaves speak to her harshly. Despite her breathtaking beauty, no one dares to come close to her, not even her beloved twin, who had taken a strange dislike to her - not even the lowest of slaves. But when she's announced as the next sacrifice to the god of death, all hope seems lost for Morrigan. It was as though or perhaps it was the reason they had let her live all these years - just to be sacrificed to the god of death who has ruled over them for centuries as a king. Her pleas fall on deaf ears as she's prepared for the ritual that will ultimately end her life. And then he arrives- the god of death. His icy gaze fell on her first. None has seen his face except the noblemen's men and women who served him in his court. Everyone had considered her dead already and was happy to discard her quickly. But what then changes, when the god of death places his cold eyes on her?

Recent Predicament
My name is Morrigan Hawksmoor, and everyone around me says that I am cursed. My mother believes that I am the reason why my twin sister lost her eye at birth. They found my right hand inside her eye, and everyone saw it as a terrible omen. My mother abandoned me when I was only three days old, leaving me in the care of my grandmother. My father never talked to me much either, although we all lived under the same roof. He always gave me strange looks, and I think he wanted to say something to me, but he never did. The kingdom of Valletta has been through many calamities since the day I was born. A red blood moon appeared in the sky, and people linked it to my birth. But how could it be only my fault? After all, I had a twin sister too. People despise me, even my twin sister despises me now. They say she is different from me and better than me. But I love Alina more than anything in this world, and I would do anything to prove it. Mother says that Alina would be prettier if it wasn't for what happened at our birth. She says that it's all my fault that our family is cursed. But how could a baby be held responsible for something like that? I don't know if writing this down will change anything, but I needed to get it out of my chest. Maybe someday things will get better, or maybe they won't. All I can do is keep living with the weight of the curse on my shoulders.
