Chapter 4 First Time -Abby- Lots of thoughts made me weary as we went our way to the Montgomery Villa. I picked up some documents from the office, thinking that I would have to dictate those if my pdf audible was not gonna work. This is my first time to be in the Montgomery Villa. The modern villa stood tall under the bright sunny sky of the San Diego skyline. You can see luxury just from the design of it. It screamed wealth. The company driver dropped me off at the curb. "Thank you, Mr. Lee. I will call you should I need to go elsewhere." I said my thanks as I gathered my stuff. "Any time. Have a good day Ms. Abby", Mr. Lee replied. I took a deep breath, momentarily shaking all the nerves that were inside my system since I went to bed last night. I rang the door bell. An older lady who looked like the help of the house, ushered me inside. One can feel the sad ambience of what's going on inside this house. "This way, Miss. He is expecting you." We halted outside of what looked like a bedroom. We can hear from the outside that someone's yelling at someone. "I told you, Mom, I don't want to go through that eye surgery! My eyesight will not ever come back!", says a voice full of pain and strain. This is not my boss, the guy that I used to know. My boss, Cade, has always been a man of control. I always see him as someone who can always emerge unscathed from any situation. This man right now seems to be the total opposite of my boss, Cade. He seemed lost and in despair. "Why can't you try it, son? Yes, the surgeon said that there's a slim chance, but you gotta-" "Enough of this! I can still manage the company, I just need to get used to things.", he answered with stern finality. Mrs. Johnson, from what I learned to be the help in the house, knocked on the door. "Excuse, sir. Ms. Abby is here." I anxiously waited till the door opened. "Uhm, ma'am/sir? Good morning," I tried to clear the lump in my throat and awkwardly put out a smile. "Oh, hi Abby. Glad you're here now. Have you gotten all of his stuff?" I nodded as an answer to Mrs. Montgomery "Son, Abby's here. I leave you two to work." Cade's mom whispered to me before she left, "Please be patient with him, Abby. He's gonna get worse, he needs you more than ever." To which I just nodded. The first thing you'll see when you enter the humongous room is a one-seat lounge chair with a wooden drum table. Further on the right side, you will see a gray partition wall accentuated with a fireplace on it. The walls are painted all white with accents of gray. This room is so huge that it's bigger than my 750 square feet apartment. I was led further inside where I could see the bedroom. The guy that I've always admired as a firm leader is now facing his back at us, sitting on a wheelchair staring blankly outside the sliding glass door looking out at an average-sized pool. The view outside is partially covered with a see-through white curtain. It's 7:30 in the morning, the sun should be up by now, but it seems like this whole bedroom is still so dim just because of the vibe and the dark energy it exudes, though I can see the bed has been made. I looked at the back of the man who I have worked for for the last 5 years and yet I feel like this is the very first day of my job trying to figure out this stranger in front of me.
