Chapter seventeen Hidden

1317 Words
It was so quiet down here, there were not windows. I knew I’d never be able to escape from here mostly because the door wasn’t really a normal door. Why would I need to be hidden from my father? He never cared about me. He left me year ago so why would he bother to look for me now? I had no intentions of him finding me no desire whatsoever to ever see him again. I don’t even remember what he looked like. I tried to think about what he use to look like and nothing came to mind. Not even the sound of his voice or if he had ever hugged me nothing, it was blank. I plopped down on the red velvet couch and flipped on the t.v looking for something to watch. I found an old rerun of a sitcom the 1950’s. The wife was goofy and always got herself into trouble and when her husband would get home she’d try to get out of it without explaining but it never worked. I really enjoyed it and there looked to be a marathon of it so I watched it halfway when I decided might as well be comfortable if I was stuck down here. So I kicked my boots off and tossed my jeans on the bed. I kept my shirt, hoodie and panties on but flung my bra on the bed. I fluffed some pillows and grabbed a fuzzy blanket and made a little nest on the couch. I watched that show for hours it seemed. I was warm and comfortable and the smell of Ashton’s scent filled my lugs from his hoodie, I yawned a few times before I fell asleep. Third person POV The twins had gotten home later than expected from running the perimeter of their territory. Both were spent and couldn’t wait to cuddle up to Emma. She was probably sleeping by now in one of their rooms. The pictures how sweet she always looked when she slept. To them she looked like a fallen Angel. They had left their clothes on the back patio, they morphed and quickly dressed. They figured their parents were asleep to so they were very quiet when they came home. The kitchen lights were out the maids must have already left. They bound up the stairs taking two at a time expecting to find their sweet Luna cuddled in someone’s bed. Ashton swung the door to his room open find the lights on, he found her clothes had been gone through. He found the outfit they had dressed her in on the bathroom floor but found no Emma. Meanwhile Dom was busy sneaking into his room thinking maybe she had slept in there. He checked the bed, the bathroom all to not avail. She wasn’t here at all. Dom panicked and lunged up the second flight of steps to her old closet nothing was left there either. All the blankets had been picked up, pillows gone everything like she had never slept there. Ashton picked up her little mess and was getting ready to sneak into Dom’s room to cuddle when Dom burst in the room. “She’s gone,” he panted. Ashton dropped the clothes on the floor and looked at his brother stunned. “What?” Was all he could muster as he could feel his wolf howling for her. “Emma, she is not here. Her room is totally empty, my room doesn’t even smell like her at all. Your room smells like her at least. Are all of her clothes still here?!!” Dom’s mouth was running a hundred miles a minute. “Yeah, I just picked them up they were all over the place it looked like she showered and went through her clothes but I didn’t think anything of it.” His voice was strained from trying not to panic. He was failing. “Where would she have gone?” Dom was past panic now . “I don’t know. I thought she’d be here waiting for us to come home. You know how she can’t sleep without us, let alone really wanna go anywhere without us.” Ashton was smelling her shirt. “Mom and dad stayed behind she couldn’t have left without them seeing her.” As Dom said that he was already out the door. Ashton followed his brother downstairs to find their parents. They had not been sleeping they were sitting in the living room. Watching t.v like everything was right in the world and Emma had never been missing. “Where is Emma?” Demanded Dom. “What do you mean?” Grady said coolly. “She’s not sleeping, in either of our rooms. Her old room is empty as if she had never been here! Not only that but in Ashton’s room her clothes were all over the place. We know she couldn’t have gone very far because she left everything in his room. So did you see her leave?” He was barking at them now. His eyes dark. “She tried to leave to see her mother because the nurses said she had left. We explained to Emma she couldn’t leave without one of you at least. She got upset and went to bed.” The coldness in his voice outraged the twins. “Did you check on her?” Ashton was in shock at what he was hearing. “No, we figured to leave her alone we would have been devastated. If we had been told we weren’t allowed to go find our parents if they were missing.” Lucinda had answered this time trying to soothe her boys. She had a hard time lying to them so she watched what she said. “I don’t feel very good, I feel scared and alone. I feel trapped like a mouse.” Ashton squeaked before he sat down. “It’s just because you don’t know where your mate is that’s all.” Grady tried to help. “No, this is Emma. She’s stuck somewhere and I intend to find her.” He snapped. “Well you can’t go all all night, you have to rest. Otherwise you’ll tired yourself out and won’t be able to defend yourself if you run into trouble.” Lucinda scolded. “You’re right mother, we will rest for the night but we fully expect the entire pack to be ready at dawn.” Dom was using his Alpha voice. They both stormed off to their rooms. Ashton lay in bed tossing and turning but could sleep. He heard a knock at the door. “Yes?” He answered. It was Dom, he opened the door slowly with a deep frown on his face. “I can’t sleep without her, her scent.” He hung his head. “Me either,” Ashton was glaring at the ceiling. “I love you,” they heard in their heads. Both boys smiled, it was Emma. “We love you too. Baby where are you? Tell me I promise I won’t be mad. We will come get you right now!” Dom thought back on the mind link. “I’m not sure you can. I miss you and I didn’t leave you.” “Baby? Why won’t you tell us where you are?” Urged Ashton. “Because I’m not sure where I am. I wasn’t even sure this would work. I love you. I didn’t leave you. I never would. I love my Alpha twins.” She mind linked them a mantra of ‘I love you’. They mind linked back the sweet nothings but she wouldn’t tell them where she was. Dom grabbed her shirt and popped in bed with his twin the slept facing each other with her shirt between them. Sharing her smell with the sound of her voice echoing in their mind link.
