Chapter one Third Person introduction
Emma lived in an elegant home, however, nothing about her life was elegant. Her mother had gotten sick when she was young and her father had ran off with another woman. So Emma went to work to care for her mother, a rich family in the pack had offered to pay her mother’s bills. She moved into the mansion at the tender age of seven years old to pay for her mother’s care, her mother had begged her not to but she wanted the best care available.
Emma was a tall girl with brown curly hair with reddish highlights, beautiful green eye and fair skin. She is very beautiful but is picked on often because she is not slender. She has voluptuous curves, and an hour glass figure but since she doesn’t fit in with the other girls she is picked on regularly.
She had just finished her junior year in high school and was off for summer break. Summer break here was only like two months so that way you got out in the spring as a senior. She was thankful school had ended she had just gotten out of a relationship with a boy who had been a senior. He was a football star, all the girls fawned over him including Emma. She had been blown away that he had even asked her out. They had only dated for a few weeks before thing’s ended badly. She hoped that when she got back to school as a senior no one would remember that. But that’s high school that’s not how things work. She lived with the two most eligible bachelors in the pack, Dom and Ashton. They made literally every girl tune their head when they walked by. All but Emma, she preferred to keep her head down when they walked by. Especially Dom, he was mean to her almost as if he hated the girl.
But she had been grateful that the Alpha family had agreed to help her. It was the Luna or pack mother which ever you prefer to call her who had offered. Emma didn’t know that it would mean her childhood would cease to exist, but we all must make sacrifices for the people we loved.
Her room in this house was in the attic away from the rest of the Alpha family. She wasn’t treated horribly but she could tell them none of them thought very much of her. The Alpha hardly even knew she existed, his wife Lucinda, the Luna, was nice enough but everything must be done in a certain way other wise Emma would be denied dinner scraps. The couple’s two wildly handsome twin boys they were three years older than Emma and had never liked her at all. They treated her the worst and they were identical twins so when they turned twenty-one they would be the new Alpha.
The boys were probably six foot five or something like that, they towered over Emma and picked on her endlessly. She ignored them and went about her work never interacting with them more than she had to. When she wasn’t working in the home she was studding for her last year of high school and then she would be allowed to get a good job within the pack and be able to take care of her mother, with out the help of Lucinda and Alpha Grady.
The twins were everyone’s dream mate, tall and muscular, bright blue eyes and sandy blonde hair. Their smiles alone made girls swoon, they were both cunning men who looked as though the had stepped out of a movie. They were perfect one was sweeter than sugar and the other was tougher than stone. The twins had new girlfriends every few months, just something to do while they swayed their mates. They talked about it endlessly, it drove them crazy. They had been denied nothing in life, so to be forced to wait for a mate was torture to them.
Emma enjoyed looking at the twins, but neither would even consider her or give her a second glance. The steady stream of girls that flowed in and out of the house was annoying. There was always some she-wold calling the house asking for them or knocking on the door. There had even been a few brazen enough to set stuff the twins had let the girls wear on fire in the front yard. There was a girl once that had actually accused me of being the girl that one of them was leaving her for. I don’t remember which twin it had been but I remember them laughing so hard it almost shook pictures off the walls. All of the girls that they dated were zero’s if not double zeros. The girls they dated were not only from our pack but a few from the surrounding pack in the hopes their mate or mates might be from a different pack. The twins were waiting for their mate still unsure if they would each get one or have to share the same one.
Emma was seventeen now and on the verge of her first change which meant soon she might catch the scent of her mate or be like the twins and have to wait until her mate comes of age. They lived in the mountains in a small town and they were in nearing the end of summer and she was getting ready to head back to school for her last year. Her birthday was in the spring and that was her favorite time of the year all the flowers came back to life and the grass turned green again.
Her little slice of heaven was the picnic table in the back yard. The was wear she was allowed to do her schoolwork in the warm weather, or if she had free time after her work was done she was allowed to go there and read. It wasn’t much but it was hers, and that’s all that mattered.
