Chapter Four The Party

1113 Words
I got up extra early this morning. I wasn’t sure what time the party planner would be here but I wanted to be ready when she did get here. They always used the same party planner she was an older lady but she was strict and will not decorate unless the house is absolutely spotless so I wanted to make sure it would go off without a hitch. I was getting ready to make a buffet for breakfast pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, breakfast potatoes. I was peeling the potatoes when the party planner arrived and I let her in. She was older and heavy set and had cheeks like a bulldog, thin wire frames that sat in the edge of her nose and dark brown eyes that almost looked black. Her grey hair was pulled into a tight bun and not a hair out of place. She only ever wore pantsuits and today it was a dark burgundy color. I took her to the living room so she could start he decorating while I finished on breakfast it was almost like she wasn’t even there she knew should was not to bother me until everyone was fed and the kitchen was clean. I heard Lucinda get up and walk out it the party planner and start to bark orders at her in her high pitched voice. I could hear the clack of her stilettos on the hard wood floors. I made her a cup of coffee and offered it to her. “Oh at least someone around here knows what the hell their job is!” She scolded the planner. I walked off quickly to set the table because on birthdays the twins always got up early and the Alpha would be waiting for them at the pack lines for their birthday hunt. No sooner than I had put down the last plate of pancakes I heard them coming and all I had left to do was to place the coffee on the table and I could run off to my normal schedule. “Happy birthday boys!!” I smiled at them as they walked into view. Ashton smiled and nodded while Dom flipped me off. “I saw you lurking outside my bedroom last night, what were you too afraid to ask me to give you an attitude adjustment?” Asked Dom. “Leave her alone she just wished you a happy birthday,” Ashton defended. “Would have been better if she would have given me birthday s*x considering we both just broke up with our girlfriends.” He kept glancing at me. “That’s not her job description,” Ashton’s face was hard and his eyes were dark he was about to flip on his brother. I ignored them Dom had made comments about that before and I had brushed it off before. Ashton always protested against his twin when he did that but never said anything about any of the other things he’d say to me. Dom, which is short for Dominic, had always been mean to me even when we were young and I was just starting to clean and cook he would make extra messes so my job took longer to do. Ashton never really bothered with me too much he was my favorite, he was quiet and never really noticed me too much. He would give me his old books when he had out grown them. He even gave me his old winter coat and it smelled so good it when he first gave it to me it had smelled sweet like honey and lavender. I always wondered what it would be like to smell you mate for the first time they said they the smell was intoxicating and delicious. I always held a hope that my mate was some rich handsome man that would sweep me off of my feet like a princess. I was lost in my own thoughts as I cleaned the kitchen after breakfast I had managed to get at least one pancake. After I finished the kitchen I walked into the living room to help the party planner she was hanging streamers. Since I had worked with her before I knew what she wanted me to do and I started making an elegant banner that read ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOMINIC AND ASHTON’. It was on a black piece of poster board with gold letters that shimmered in the light. I helped hang it and hang the fairy lights and when we were done it looked really nice. It took so long to do I had to hurry to start dinner while the planner worked on the party food. Everyone was gonna start showing up close to six and I was running out of time. The planner took over and told me to go get dressed. I launched myself up the steps to my room I knew I had to look amazing because everyone was going to be here and I didn’t want to embarrass the family. I took my braid out and let my waves fall around my face my hair was waist length so I pulled it alway from my face and left it long. I did my make up softly to enhance my natural beauty and picked a black dress that hugged my curves and had a sweetheart neckline and a cut to my thigh and I picked black suede ankle boots and I thought I looked pretty good. Walking down the steps was and extremely weird feeling it was the first time that I had ever felt elegant while living in this house. I headed to the kitchen to get my tray of champagne to carry around and was stopped by the twins. They were staring at me like I was snack or something. “Well you look delicious,” Dom said while staring at my figure. “Stunning really,” Ashton corrected. “Thank you,” as I said this I started to lose my breathe they were both breathtaking in the black suit and baby blue dress shirts and their ties were royal blue and I couldn’t help myself. “You two look very handsome, I’m sure your dates are very lucky.” I smiled at them and I could feel my temperature rising. “We don’t have dates tonight we have decided to stay single until we find out mates we are tired of telling the girls we date that we love them when we don’t really care. They are just something to do. You do look very nice and you smell amazing by the way.” Called Dom as I continue to walk away.
