CHAPTER SIX HAYLEY STRETCHED, HER muscles screaming at her in protest that it was still too early to wake up, as well as reminding her this motel was not her normal bed. For starters, the mattress sucked. It felt more like sleeping on a piece of plywood than an actual mattress, and the pillows were like boulders under her head. And she thought her bed on campus was bad! As she swung her legs over the edge of the bed, she wasn’t sure why she was so surprised at the quality of the motor lodge. The place looked as if it had been left over from the sixties with it’s one story, twenty-unit bland look. Still, it was the first place she had found when she hit town last night, and she didn’t feel like searching for anything else. She wouldn’t be here long enough to worry about it. She would find
