Chapter V- Explained

Since that incident, we did not meet or have any kind of conversations after that. Adelina did come to console me. I mean I get it, he was the Supernatural king and I was a nobody, a mere human in the world of supernaturals. Yet that does not mean that it did not hurt. I don't know why, but it was like we had a connection or something, but, well, he made it pretty clear that there was nothing. I did not think, even for a second, that I was his chosen one or something. It wasn't because that connection is instant and someone cannot go against that, it was like a crime to dishonor the bond. It has been a week since then. Dinner, lunch, and breakfast are the same. We all chat and have fun until he comes in and decides to join us. Then it becomes all awkward and weird. I have caught him staring at me a lot of times, even met him halfway through the hall, but decided not to look too much into any matters. Protecting my little heart is what matters. That week Adelina and I were walking down the hallways after dinner. His highness did not honor us with his presence today. After about five minutes of walking, Adelina and I stopped to part ways. It was a four-way diversion. On the right was the prince and princess' quarter, where Oscar and Astrid lived along with Konstantin and Agnes. On the left was Solomon and Ryker's quarter where Adelina was heading, and straight ahead was the guest quarter where I was heading. The king had his own floor, with his own maids and guards. Even though I hated the king, I had to admire his taste. Polished furniture lining up the walls, pictures of former rulers. Some walls were decorated with art, while some had magnificent mirrors. soothing colors draped the walls, giving everything a luxurious yet homey look. I had barely taken two steps when a soul-shattering pain shot through my heart. My knees buckled over with pain. My whole body felt numb with pain. My eyes were getting blurry, which I realized were my own tears. I couldn't think straight or hear properly. Dark sports were clouding my vision. The pain was so great that I could feel myself losing consciousness. The last thing I remembered was a frantic and terrified Adelina, with Solomon and Oscar rushing towards us. . . . "Miss?", I was snapped back to reality by the mysterious stranger who looked like Angelo, but I was sure he wasn't Angelo. I was still in the diner. "Hades?", I asked cautiously. I could see his whole face light up. His eyes showed a series of emotions; shock, disbelief, happiness, adoration, and I dare say, love. Maybe my visions were right. Maybe both of us were reborn. Yet what about being supernatural, and as far as I remember, why would he be happy to see me? He hated me according to my vision. And who the hell is Angelo then? Nothing made sense, there was nothing called rebirth or supernatural. This wasn't even the worst part. I had a feeling that this was just the beginning, and things would start making sense, life was gonna be much more terrifying. "Persephone...", he faintly whispered. Shivers ran down my body, creating havoc inside me. Just a syllable, yet it held so much love for me. Was it possible that even he had those visions and knew me? But why love? "You remember!!", his voice was still faint, but hopeful. Like a big burden has gotten off his back. I seriously had no idea what to say. That I knew who he was, but did not know him or anything like that. A million thoughts ran through my head, out of which one thought prevailed, my heart couldn't bear to hurt him. "You are not Angelo", I said after a few minutes of staring. It wasn't a question, but a statement rather. I could see his face confronted with confusion, and then anger. I wasn't sure, to whom it was directed. The next thing I know is that I am being dragged away from the diner, to a car. I could not see the car much, as this huge person was blocking my sight. The inside of the car was beautiful. The smell of leather is strong. Everything was clean, unlike my car. I was sitting in the passenger seat, and when I tried to open the door, I couldn't. Stupid child lock. As soon as his ass landed on the driver's seat, the car took off. He was tightly gripping the steering wheel, his knuckles turning white. He was cursing at every stoplight. Wait a minute. Wait a damn minute. Just because I knew him from my visions, does not guarantee him a decent person. For all I knew, he could kill me, or worse, r**e me. Where is my common sense when I need it? Who in their sane mind gets in a car with a handsome stranger? Me, that's who. "Excuse me, where are you taking me." He looked at me for a second, before turning his attention toward the road. What the hell is wrong with this man? He's hot, I'll give him that, but that won't work anymore. I started asking more and more questions. At one point, I swore I saw him smirking, quickly replaced by an emotionless look. After what felt like an hour, we stopped in front of one of our hotels. "What are we doing here? You had better answer me this time." I was pretty annoyed at this point. For all I knew, dad could be here. What was I going to tell him, regarding my presence here, and absence in the office? Ignored, once again. We were greeted by the chill air from the air conditioner, as we stepped inside the lobby. He led me to the elevator and began to take out his room key. I had to suppress a laugh when I noticed he had lost it. We got out of the elevator and met with Miss Sally, the receptionist, to ask for a spare key. "Ah! Percy. What brings you here today? It has been so long since I last saw you." she said, once she saw me. "I've been a little busy, Sally. I started working with dad." I replied to the woman, roughly ten years older than me. Both of us kept conversing like long-lost friends. From the corner of my eyes, I could see an extremely shocking look on Hades. But I would give him credit for not interrupting us. After a few minutes, he coughed, gaining both of our attention. "Oh! excuse me sir, who is this handsome young man with you, Percy?" Miss Sally asked. Before I could answer, he cut me off, "Hi, I am currently residing in room no 531, and I lost my key." Saying so, he handed her his ID. Miss Sally quietly did her job, while giving me looks. Apparently, even Miss Sally finds him hot. After getting another room card, I once again found myself being dragged toward the elevator. This time I let him. Something in me told me that he had all my answers. His room was pretty clean. A few files on the table. A leather jacket on the bed, and that's all there to show that the room was occupied by someone. "How does the receptionist know you?" " Where are all your belongings?" We both asked at the same time. "I don't actually live here," he replied and waited for me to answer his question. "My dad owns this hotel," I said. He looked amused but did not comment on it. Instead, he went and knocked on the closet door. Out came a woman, precisely in her fifties. "You have been getting visions, am I right?" Hades asked. "Yes", I replied. "Those are her doings," Hades said, pointing towards the woman. "The visions will stop now, my dear," she said in a soothing voice. "Why?" I blurted out before I could stop myself. Hades' lips formed into a smirk. I wanted to be angry, but I couldn't help myself but melt. A sense of relief spread through me, seeing him happy. "Because that is where it ends, that is when you died." the woman replied. I looked towards Hades, only to find him already staring at me. Guilt and remorse were clearly visible in his eyes. It's like he is not even hiding them. "Well, that means everything in those visions is true?" I asked. "Yes," Hades replied. Right. Do they take me to be some dumb-ass child to believe this stuff, like someone could make me get visions? When their faces did not show any amusement, I swallowed the hard pill, that it was all real. "Why am I not freaking out?" I was freaking out over the fact that I wasn't freaking out, but not because of the fact that Hades was a hybrid supernatural, the king in fact, and also that vampires, witches, and werewolves are real. I give a questioning glance at the woman and Hades asks my unasked question. "She's a witch." That's it, I should be freaking out by now. I mean supernatural beings aren't real. I urged Hades to go on. "Remember that time you woke up in the cemetery, with your finger bleeding?" Hades asked. "Let me guess, that was her doing too?" I said. Hades chuckled at that, nodding his head to agree with me. It's not funny, it's creepy. "That was to resurrect them, my dear" the woman, whose name I'm yet to know, said. Confusion swarmed my thoughts once again. "What resurrection? And if you are Hades, who is Angelo?" I asked frantically. Nothing was making sense. A great deal of information was still unknown to me. "The visions you saw were your past life, and that is all you have. As you die after that, you have to rely on Hades' memory. And to do that I have to perform a spell. Are you willing to do that, my dear?" The woman asked in her kind, motherly voice. Was I willing to do that? It wasn't like I had a very happy life in the past. And Hades didn't treat me right, so will seeing how he reacted then be of any use? "Yes" I replied, with no trace of hesitation laced in my voice.
